It’s been over 20 years since I played this course and now I remember why I stopped. It just never in very good shape.


Tee Boxes – The tee boxes are set up well. We played the middle tee’s and this was about right for us. Again, with my handicap, I am not ready for the longer tee’s.

Fairways - The fairways are nice. But the rough is bad. Clover and other weeds are everywhere. Most are very narrow and tree lined. 150 markers were plane, but we had to search for any other marker.

Greens – The greens were somewhere between bad and horrible. The greens were so bad we decided if we got within a few inches, it would count.

How did I play?

Front nine - Shot a 46. 5 of 7 fairways hit, 2 of 9 GIR and 17 Putts.
I played ok on the front with a couple of shots at birdie. I hit my short irons and wedges ok but I need some work. Mid to long irons was pretty good. When I missed I pulled the shot left. I dunno!! Putting was decent. I missed several opportunities to score really well.

Back nine - Shot a 50. 4 of 7 fairways hit, 2 of 9 GIR and 15 Putts.
I never could get it going. Second shot was all over the place. Again I have no idea what was going on. On an up note, I drove the ball decent on the back. Most was a small draw that had plenty of roll. I was scared to swing away because of the narrow fairways and hit my drives short all day. Wedge play was decent when I got close. I had several missed opportunities.

Overall. We played 18 in 5 hours and 35 minutes. Way too long and this just kills me. They were 4 of us playing and we used the entire course. Too me this was not a fun course to play and I probably won’t ever play it again.

Me and my crew are heading to Memphis is July for a golf trip. Can you give me a recommendation for 4-5 courses that are must plays, good values, etc. Anything else we should know about going there to golf? I appreciate it!
