I've always hit the ball high off the tee. I am averaging about 235 on my drives either straight or with a draw.  But I feel I am losing some distance with the high shot.  It seems to just die.  I play a Taylormade 10.5 Burner with the ball slightly off my left heel.  The question is if I start moving the ball back in my stance will I hit more down on the ball or more level to drive the ball more?

I played Saturday and hit 11 of 14 fairways so I don;t want to mess up my accuracy.

Any thoughts?

Do you have any launch angles? Does sound like you got some flipping going on, but it's hard to tell without knowing more.

Moving the ball only by one ball to center shall help you if you don't want to mess with your accuracy. I would suggest you do one change in your game at one time. Try if it helps or will suggest the next

I was thinking the same thing...play the ball just inside the left heel...nothing drastic, but just to where it feels a little different.  I have found that with the extra long modern drivers that the ball starts sneaking too far up in the stance.  I have gripped down and moved it back myself which gave me a flatter trajectory.  Let us know how you make out.

Thanks for the tips. I will move the ball back and try this.  If I can I will video my swing now and post.

Thanks again.

Also take a few shots with impact tape and check it's not coming off the face too high which would add height to the shot.

I found as an example with my 3W I ballooned a lot of shots with a 1" castle tee so I swapped to a 1/2" and that immediately corrected it.

Hitting it high on the clubface is plausible, worth a shot anyways. Distance is a result of many things, so a lower launch angle may not give you more distance.
