Unless you're a low single digit handicapper I don't recommend a 13* 3 wood-if you ever plan on using it off the fairway.  You should have no problem hitting a 14.5* or 15* 3 wood 220-240 yards.

Personally I am not (never was) a big fan of the 3W ....... I have had quite a few over the years, tried several lofts till I recently got a 13.5 909 F2 and I can hit it with ease of the fairway ...... I must say I took some lessons and today I average about 210 meter (about 235 yds including roll) with it from the fairway, but I only use it from a decent lie. If your technique is sound, hitting it is no problem, don't expect a lot of difference between a 13* and a 15*

The 13* three wood is a tough club unless you are very accomplished and have a higher swingspeed.  For most of us mortals, the 14.5* would suit the bill as a little higher launch angle would get us fairly similar results and it would be easier to hit.  I tried the Adams offering in both in a launch monitor and found that my Cally 15* had more carry than both of them at 245.  The lower loft was at 240 but not as consistent, the higher loft was within 5 yards but more consistent.  My Cally won due to the comfort level and the shaft configuration.
