Callaway HX Soft Flight Practice Balls

Does anyone here use them and can you tell me how they perform? Specifically, do you get a real sense from the impact and flight of the ball as to how well you have struck the ball and its trajectory and how far do they fly? That is, can you hit a 7-iron in your back yard or are these primarily for practicing chipping?

Thanks.

i have some.  i hit them into a hoodie draped over something to trap the ball in my apartment, so i can't say anything about the ball flight.  for me, i can't feel a thing when i hit them.  almost indiscernible from a practice swing sans ball.

They don't feel like hitting real golf balls to me.  The distance is between a real golf ball and the plastic practice balls.  I hit two over into my neighbors yard with a 9i, so unless you have alot of property I'd think you're going to lose a bunch hitting a 7i.

On a positive note, you can tell by their flight if you hit them right, but the plastic whiffle golf balls provide the same feedback for alot less money.

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

I had a few of the HX balls come with something else that I ordered. I have hit them while chipping, full swings and the such, and they just do not feel good in my opinion. I prefer the Almost Golf Balls as they feel great off of the clubs and react like golf balls. They travel about 1/3 the distance of real balls, and will not break a window. The HX balls feel mushy and just don't react well off of the clubface.

Check out Birdie Balls (www.birdieball.com).  I was just given a three pack of these.  Haven't had a chance to really work with them yet, but everything I've read about them raves about them.  Supposedly the same flight as a true golf ball would have but with reduced distance (20-60 yards depending on club if I remember correctly).  The website's ridiculously crowded IMHO, but seems like a good product.  I have no affiliation with these guys, just thought you would be interested.
