Anyone make their own music?

Pretty rough recordings I did. I'm a newbie at this whole production thing, but decent at composing songs.

Not my cup of tea, but it's a hell of a lot better than anything I could do.

I was in a few bands from around 16-24. The last band I was in was alright, but we didn't really go anywhere. We did, at least, make one CD.

Since then I've been working on stuff by myself. I've just started recording an album which I will finish off sometime in the next few months.

My style is hard rock. Phat guitars with slamming drums and aggressive (but clear and melodic) vocals.

It's been a while, but I did the stage & studio thing for somewhere around a dozen years up 'til about 2002.  Trying to find the time as well as the personnel to put together a little casual band to bang around with, now.  Through the 90's, though, heh... Hovered around a hundred shows a year, anywhere from a couple thousand in the crowd to three drunks and empty chairs behind a chickenwire stage in Nowhere, New Mexico.  Was successful enough with music to encourage me to drop out of my Premed program in college, leading me to now be unable to afford my golf habit.  *hah*

Woah, pretty awesome guitar skills there. I wasn't expecting the solos to go from gentle speeds to warp speed so easily! Good stuff. I would say all you need is to make sure the rhythm tracks are super tight with the beat. Its always cool to be lay back and relaxed with the feel, but I could hear slight off-rhythm parts in the first song, and that could distract the listener. You use a click track, right? Sometimes I use a full drum track as a click track to let me really feel the groove as I record the rhythm parts. Good job.

Yea, there are a few rough spots. But I just used a program called "Audacity". Basically I just put a mic over on my amp and just recorded lol. It's a crappy way to record but I get decent quality from it.

Been playing electric guitar for about 30 years - always played in cover bands - never spent much time trying to record my own stuff - props to you there - nice work.

Cool. Yeah keeping it simple is great. I have a nice studio-room with nice gear and synths and stuff, but my computer crashed. All I can do is record straight into my iphone one track at a time, but its a simple setup, and now I'm getting to know my guitars again.

Very impressive!  At first I was thinking, "Why does he call himself a one man band if he just sings and plays guitar?" Needless to say I was surprised, you have some real talent.  Keep it up.  Do you record guitar first and play drums over it? If you made a "scratch" track of the lead guitar and recorded your drums to that, then laid down the lead and rest of the instruments/vocals to that drum track I think it would sound a little tighter and flow a little better.  Just some constructive criticism to think about.

The production went 1. Record scratch guitar to a click track, 2. Record drums to the click (and scratch guitar), 3. Record the guitars, 4. Bass, 5. Everything else.

Everything was recorded in one take, no overdubs or anything, so it's gonna have more of a "Live" feel about it.

I haven't done any more of these videos because I've started recording an actual album (of sorts) where everything is being scrutinized and has to be pretty well perfect.

Needless to say, it's time consuming! lol.
