Ping 3 wood head and shaft made in china?

Every major golf club maker with a few very small exceptions manufactures in China. Those that do not manufacture In China usually do in either Taiwan or Korea. Then their are the very few high end Items that are manufactured in Japan.

Well, I was not aware of that Ping clubs are made in China. No wonder why so many counterfeit clubs come from China! Perhaps, some could be legit genuine clubs through illegal route, not knowing how manufacturers control their inventories oversea.

Like many car companies, ping can make the claim made in USA (and avoid high taxes) by having the parts made in china but assembled in the USA. I always thought they still made/assembled in USA because of their high prices, but mainly the tagline. A few days ago I had a guy come into my shop, we got to talking, turns out his son worked for ping for 20 years, and they apparently have been doing it for quite some time.

Just because it says made in china, doesn't mean its fake as, like mentioned in earlier posts, everyone has parts made in china.  If the company name or model name is misspelled or something of the like...yeah...that's a fake lol.  Never EVER trust a site who claims they are selling components (heads/shafts...etc) that haven't been put together yet for really cheap, no real major company does that (by major I mean Nike/TM/Call/Ping/Mizuno...etc).

At another shop I go to every once in a while, the subject of fakes came up. The owner said Callaway Preowned apparently is VERY slack on the qualifications for trade in.  Someone bought a driver from the legitimate callaway preowned site and it broke, he sent it back to Callaway, where they in turn confiscated it and said it couldn't replace the driver since it was a fake.  Apparently the quality control people at Callaway-Callaway are not the same as the ones at Callaway Pre-owned, so counterfeiters are selling their equipment to the pre-owned site for money, which then in turn gets sold to consumers who don't know the difference.

Ping just made the switch to having thier clubs made in China, I don't remember the specific model but starting with the K series or G series they have been manufactored in China.  Older Ping's like the Eye 2 and ISI were made in the USA, but the newer Ping's are not.

Even parts(I can not recall which) of my Mizuno irons are done in China, even though they are Japanese forged. It states this on the pamphlets I received for my irons and wedges. Can't be helped.
