I have an original studio design 1 that has the same finish. Just make sure you keep it dry, if it gets wet, get the water off a.s.a.p. I was fortunate enough for my boss to have the oil cloth that came with the original studio designs, and I basically would wrap the putter head in the cloth between rounds and especially in the winter. Don't leave the putter out in the cold or it will rust. I also used baby oil on it, and it worked as well as the cloth that came with the putter.

I found it in the archives under 1998. Chances are that it was produced over a longer period than just that though. I'm a little out of my element w/the Coronado, I'm more of a Newport guy. Enjoy the putter and as BDM said, be sure to take care of it...

Coronado TWO putters were made in 1998 and 1999.  Oil Can finish.  Are you sure you have a Coronado TWO?  The easiest difference to spot between the Coronado and the Coronado Two is the neck.  The TWO has a square-ed off neck.  The Coronado has a more traditional round neck (round like the shaft - the hosel/neck shape flows nicely).

 

Your putter, with the Gun Blue finish label, is interesting.  Maybe aftermarket work?  Is the label clear, with black lettering, surrounded by a red rectangle?  That is the traditional Cameron Gun Blue sticker from that era, but I don't think it would be on an Oil Can putter.  The Oil Can finishes are pretty distinctive.  Rainbow swirls when new, the develop a deep brown patina as they age, almost like a dark brown leather. 

 

 

My putter is also an old Gun Blue putter - and I don't store an oil cloth with it at all.  The finish looks great for as old as it is.  (2001).  Never baby oiled it either.  A wipe down with the oil cloth after each round (or soon after) and into the headcover she goes.  I also store it inside the house in the winter.  I really like the Coronados... almost bought one of them when I bought my Studio Design 2.

 

It is possible for the finish to come off. My studio design #1 was forced into storage for several months, upon removing the headcover the next season it had rusted and pitted badly.Birchwood casey makes a product to help remove rust that wont hurt the finish. Once you are done use gun oil or the Cameron oil cloth to wipe it down. If you dont oil it the thing will begin to rust pretty quickly.

If you'd like I can email you pics of before and after. I just cleaned up my original art of putting Laguna today. The rust wasnt too bad, but the product took it off without affecting the finish. Unfortunately it says Im not allowed to upload images? Guess Im too new :(
