I've heard of bending clubs but this is absurd!

Some players wanted to see a couple of degrees open, a couple of degrees closed. For example, we knew some of the top players were bending their drivers six, seven, eight degrees open, but they obviously still were able to bring the clubface back to square at impact square.

I tend to play my driver a bit open at address because my miss is a hook.   Playing it a couple of degrees open helps keep a draw from turning into a snap.   If I don't square up, I get a mild fade.   I can't imagine bending a driver eight degrees open.   That seems unreal to me!
Just goes to show you how far the gap is between what the pro's are playing and what you buy off the rack.

Driver: VRS 9.5 degrees

Fairway Wood: 13 degrees
Hybrid: A3 19 degrees

Irons: i20's  Yellow dot

Wedges: Vokey's 52, 56 & 60

Putter: 2 ball

Ball: Penta; ProV

It doesn't happen anywhere near as much or to that extent as that article seems to imply. Most pros will do a little tweaking here or there but that's about it. The heads are pretty stock with a little more QA, the shafts are hand selected and have a little more QA... and that's about it.

So what you're saying is, its still "the archer, not the arrow", huh?

Except the pros are not playing a stock head....

The R11 they are playing is a 415cc head not the monster they sell on the shelves of Dick's

I might actually game a TM driver if I could get one in 415cc. Somehow I doubt this though.
