How many other "It is NOT the Indian" moments out there?

Hello Everyone. We have all heard the golf saying "It is the Indian and not the arrow." when someone else says something about that shot or the game we just had in reference to us versus our golf equipment. However, TODAY for the FOURTH CONSECUTIVE time, I played my friend's Calloway FT i-brids instead of my own Mizuno MP 33 blades. For the fourth consecutive time, I beat my average score by no less than 6 strokes. I normally score in the 80's with the blades but it requires a lot of work and focus. But with the i-brids, I score in the low 80's and high 70's MUCH easier (less scrambling and less doubt on club and shot selection). So for ONCE I can actually say, it is NOT the Indian, it is the CLUBS (that improved my scores). [[No I do not have the $350 he wants for them so I have to give them back]]

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I've been lobbying to congress for months for the saying to be changed to "it's not the arrow, it's the Native American." They haven't gotten back to me yet.

And I'd take MP-33s over FT i-Brids any day.

LOL   Question for you, I noticed your driver and 3-wood match. Was this something you HAD to do or something that makes the game easier to play?

Actually, there was something going on at Golfsmith like two years ago where you could get a Nike driver and fairway wood for like $200 or a little less. I was looking for a 3-wood and wanted a new driver, so I went for it and I do not regret it the slightest bit.

It does help that they match, though.

If the clubs don't fit your game/ability or your swing it's almost definitely the arrow and not the Indian.

I just like nice arrows. Never seen the harm in that.

Me too-but I'm fully aware that nice arrows have close to nothing to do with how I'm going to score on a given day.  Arrows do make a convenient scapegoat however...

Most likely the Mizuno blades are not the best irons for you.  The gap between the FTi-brids and the MP 33 irons is larger than the Pacific Ocean so I would not buy the Callaways.  I suggest a middle ground-- how about the FT irons?  I played these for a few years and they provide the forgiveness of a game-improvement iron with the appearance of a traditional sized iron.  All new clubs have a honeymoon stage.  If you're an 80's player, I would not jump to the I-brids.
