I took my superfast 2.0 in to get it reshafted today. stock shaft is 45g, 25g grip, 2g of tape and playing length is 46.5. I put in a 65g shaft tipped 1/2", 25g grip, 2g of tape and a playing length of 45". the club feels head heavy now and the swing weights are only .8 different. why is this? not complaining, actually like the new set up as I can tell where the head is now but wondering why it feels head heavy instead of more of a shaft weight feeling.

I'm not sure why it would feel "head heavy", the increased weight of the club is from the shaft so in reality it is shaft weight.  One idea is that you said it's only .8 swing weight points off of where it was.  I'm going to guess it's .8 lighter.  Since it only got lighter by .8 point that sounds like you may have picked a shaft with a low balance point so a lot of the shaft weight is closer to the tip, that might contribute to a head heavy feeling.  But I'm speculating.

I did something similar with my R9, I went from 60 gm to 85 gm, and 45.75" to 44.25".  I describe it as feeling more "solid", of course that's pretty subjective.

The club as a whole feels heavier, I would imagine that its because of the similar SW with it being an inch and a half shorter.

You didn't mention the overall weights of the club before and after but it should be about 18 gm heavier than before.  If it feels heavier it may be because it is heavier.

Couldn't take it anymore... Grabbed 3 balls, went out behind work and hit them into the field.  Hard to judge distance but it felt great. Can feel the club head all the way through the swing.  The stock setup was too light and I couldn't tell where I was at the top of the back swing. I hit a lot of pull hooks with it because my hands would get to high on top. From the 3 balls I hit I think it is problem solved.  I like the heavier feeling for sure. We will see on Sunday.

That sounds spot on.  If you kept the same grip/tape weight, the 20 gram shaft weight should have added roughly 2 or 3 swing weights (but 20 grams of overall weight).  BUT the 1 1/2" shorter shaft should make the swing weight roughly 8 or 9 swing weights lighter.  Mind you, that's just a quick estimate.  There about has to be a larger amount of weight toward the tip of your new shaft to make it that close to the original swing weight.  That is, if you didn't have weight added to the head/hosel.  It usually takes about 10 or 12 grams of added head weight to compensate for a 1" shorter shaft.  So my guess is the club feels head heavy because you have much more weight lower in the shaft than before.

    • I'll be honest, the only reason the 2 iron was in my bag is because I tend to hit the ball into the tree's fairly often. And I was using it to help me keep the ball very low to get out of the tree's while avoiding getting much loft to hit branches. I guess I can drop the 3H as well. Would it be wise to give a higher loft fairway wood a try as well, something like a 26 degree? I believe there is only one golf shop where I live that has a golf simulator and trainer. I see they offer free fitting with a purchase from the fitter. I'll have to check how much they charge without a purchase, I've read a few stories about fitters on this forum that just wanted to sell the person the most expensive clubs and that kind of deters me a bit. They do offer lessons as well. I'll give them a call and ask them a bit more about these services. Thank you!
    • Here is a description of all the programs:  Programs & Training Programs and Training TheStack is a personal swing-speed trainer for golfers. Initially, each golfer is piloted through a series of swing speed tests to generate a force-velocity profile of their current swing. Qualitative data is... I think cruiser is meant for maintaining speed and flex can do more than that. But I'm just basing that on the descriptions that I linked.
    • Both @DaveP043 and I play in our interclub matches every year, and have been team Captains as well.  There are always a few courses, mine is one, that win a lot of matches (we've won twice in the last 7 years), and we've been labeled as sandbaggers.  However, I really think that our course was rated too low (our greens just never seemed to get factored in enough), and thus our Handicaps were always a stroke or maybe 2 above, what they would've been if the course was rated higher.  And then when we went and played other courses, their slope and rating were much higher than ours, and sometimes I would get a 2 or 3 stroke bump on top of that.  It was definitely an advantage.  However, this past year, our course was rated again and the slope has gone up, so we'll see if we continue to have the same benefit.  Season starts this Sunday for us.

    • I would not do anything until I met with an instructor and got your swing looked at. There are some obvious better club options out there though. Spend 50 bucks on a lesson, practice and start piecing together a bag that works for you. Enjoy the journey.
