Need some advice - get fitting and grips done or just go new?

I hope that you guys can help me out with a question I have...

First a little background. I'm a rec player and I get out when I can; I don't run immediately to the course to get in 9 if I have the time, but I do really enjoy the game. Second, I'm a buy the right thing the first time type of person, regardless of costs. That doesn't mean that I buy the best or best marketed, I try to find out what fits me best and I go with it.

Years ago it was the Cleveland CG4 irons and I still play them to this day. Problem is, I am really not comfortable with the length anymore (don't ask why, maybe its age and I can't flex as much as I used to) but they just feel short for how I set up now. I also seem to have more mishits than I used to with this set.

So my question... Do I stick with the CG4s seeing I got a really good deal and don't get out much and pay to have them lengthened and regripped? Or, do I find a new set that may be better suited to my setup and game now and pay to have those fitted and gripped?

Thanks in advance!

Depends how much you want to lengthen the clubs, if it's 1/4 to 1/2" then I'd say it was ok.  Anymore than that and you're going to run into issues with weight, lie angle and shaft flex
