I've been Playing Golf for: about 4 + 4 years mostly in summer (~5 months). 4 years when I was younger and 4 at age 22-25

My current handicap index or average score is: HCP 14

My typical ball flight is: mostly straight, but too often slight curve to right or slice. Never hooks but sometimes random draw, which is where I'm aiming :)

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: slice with my driver is sometimes pretty bad.

Most work needed ( my thoughts):

- Get good and _slower_ rythm to the swing.

- Stretch more often, swing feels kinda stiff at the moment :)

- I know my grip needs some work also. It's pretty hard to spot it from the videos, but my right hand grip is pretty open (palm is "under the club"). It's hard to fix, cos gripping right doesn't feel so good, it feels like my wrists are much more inflexible.

My goal is to get consistent swing which is easy to repeat, and play rounds staying in the fairway :)

Here is the youtube playlist which has all the videos below:

More videos in few days.

Thanks in advance!

I think you have a good swing and it seems like you're making good contact.  What may need some improvement is your lower body, if you had more stability you might find more consistency.  It looks like you are making a straight back and forth, swaying weight transfer whereas I try to rotate more.

I immediatly notice a sway on the backswing, however it appears that you start your downswing with your lower body which is incredibly good.

If you tried to make less of a hip movement on the backswing, along with the same or even more of a shoulder turn on the backswing, and then come down naturally like you are doing now, you may be suprised at the result.

I'd say that is the best 14 handicapper swing I've seen in quite some time, the lower body movement to start the downswing even before you complete your backswing is incredible, you may be a few minor adjustments away from some seriously consistent ballstriking.

Try not moving your hips at all on the backswing, but you still have to make a full shoulder turn, and see where the ball goes, my guess is thats its going to go really far.

    • Day 48. Got out at lunch to the range to hit some driver shots. Haven’t had much practice there. Focused on setup suggested by @iacas and found some very playable results. I did try to hit a couple of bunker shots after that with much less success 🙃
    • Got a rare birdie on #18 Par 5.  Drive was good and left me in range of the green.  I was @ 210 from the center and needed @ 180 to clear a hazard area.  Green had bunkers lest, right and on back. had been struggling and most shots were short so I took the 225 club figuring back of green hit well. i did hit it well, @ 229 per SS and dead on—kind at the pin.  Ended up @ 1 foot off the back in short rough and lucky for me it was a back pin placement.  Chipped about 15 feet leaving a 3 feet putt for par which I sunk.
    • Yea, so to clarify for me. I do not feel the clubface much in the swing. I feel the weight of the club. I can feel if I hit the club off the heel or toe. When I try to feel if the clubface is open or closed in the swing, I feel it more with my hands, and less of the clubhead. I would classify majority of my swings as not feeling like the clubface does much of all. It feels like I hold the clubface open. In the finish, it doesn't feel like my left hand faces the ground. It feels more like it faces the sky. I will try to be more aware of this, but it was just the sensation I got when I was making what felt like good swings. For the most part, I was hitting slight draws or slight pushes.  On this golf trip, I had to hit a low 8 iron around a tree to the green. I made an alignment adjustment, and actively try to roll my hands a bit more to get it to sling around the corner. I do have a habit of not adjusting how the clubface comes through impact, and I can still hit the ball straight-ish even moving the ball way back in my stance and trying to swing out more.  Yea, my feels are more hands and arms, less actually feeling the clubface.
