Just curious if anyone swapped out for this shaft? I just had a couple reshafted to test out tomorrow. I thought they were regular but looks like perhaps stiff. It's hard to tell the flex..it looks like an "S" but cannot tell..but it feels like a regular too..more whippy.

I have them in my Mizuno MP57 irons. I like them a lot. I have the stiff, which is somewhere between the R300 and S300 Dynamic Gold. I switched out of the R300 to this after a fitting with a top notch fitter. He said the regular 950 is less stiff than and R300 so he recommended stiff for my swing speed 80 - 83 with a 6 iron. They are light but feel very nice.
I bought a few Mizuno demo clubs cheap that had DGSL R300 and S300 and DG S300 to compare too ($5 each from a store going out of business). I also got a Project X 5.5 to compare to. I like the NS 950 as well as any of the others. Launch is mid and the feel is smooth. The Project X was a bit harsh. The DGSL is nice too, but lower launching.
I think you are taking the right approach and trying just a couple of clubs first.
Let us know what you think.

Thanks, yes..it seems the stiff is less stiff than the DG XP S300 (using Mizuno MX 300)..which is what I want. I haven't gone to the range yet (going after work), but from swinging it yesterday and waggling it, it feels more flexible than the XP S300 for sure..and lighter too..which was my main reason..can't wait to give them a go.

I tried the Nike NS Pro 950 GH (S flex) in a set of Nike VR-S Forged irons at a golf demo day. I went from stiff to regular shafts four years ago, but had no trouble handling the 950 Stiff. Remember that the 950 Stiff weighs 98 grams, which is less than the DG S300 Superlight at 106 grams.

Yep..and much less than the DGXP S300 (what I "was" using) at 117g.

Okay, looks like this is NOT the flex indicator but a mark that Nippon uses as a trademark. I emailed Shaftology and got this response from them:

Just came back from the shop, yes, I confirmed that "older" Nippon shafts did not carry the generic flex marker like other companies (2009). I saw the same (newer) Nippon 950GH, dated 2011, and it had the "R" designation for REGULAR underneath the screened shaft label. The true designation was on the butt end of the where it is printed "R" or "S".
