Was following those old guys, 2 from Spain, Olazabal and Jimenez, and that 'good ole boy' John Daly. Great to see them close up and personal. Was really amazed when Olazabal pounded a small wood out of the grassy rough about 230 yds onto and slightly over the green. Jimenez was playing all round terrific golf. Long and straight off the tee, sweet directional irons, putting to win. He is one back and may actually take the cake tomorrow as the big competition, that boy Rory, has missed the cut due to much too much easy money and some say, way too much delicious sex with Caroline. Who knows?
I did not like to see JD throwing his wedge into the trees and over the fence after a bum short chip. Next he missed the putt and threw his putter 30 yds hitting the green and carving a few divots. Out of control, he surely was. He missed the cut by 6 shots. Can't say i would invite him to my tourney. Nor would i invite Rory on the basis of 'appearance fee' and this is the second time in a month he has taken the cash and crashed.
I did not know that Michael Campbell of New Zealand was an ethnic Maori as of course his name follows his long gone ancestor from Scotland. Seemed a very personal sort and i will be there tomorrow and update the action at the Hong Kong Open, as i see it.
