This year I have put a lot of hard work into my game this year and after reviewing my stats today for 2012 I need to pat myself on the back a little.
Here are some of the highlights:
Lowered my average score from 125.6 in 2011 to 108.7 this year (to me this is the biggest accomplishment for the year).
Lowered my handicap from 36.4 in 2011 to 31.8. At one point I was 26.4 but I had a few bad rounds at the end of the year.
Broke 50 on both the front and back 9 in league play.
Broke 100 (97) for the first time at my local course.
Broke 110 (109) at a course which has chewed me up with scores of 120+ over the last 3 years.
I am already getting ready for 2013. I have begun a fitness and diet program to lower my weight (already down 20 pounds in the last month and a half) and to increase my power, balance, and flexability. I am also setting up a small practice area in my basement to work on putting, chipping, and some basic fundementals. I am also working on my mental attitude and the way I carry myself on the course by reading Dr. Bob Rottella and Zen Golf (again). My goal in 2013 is to lower my average to under 100 and get my handicap to less than 20.
Thanks for reading.
