Crazy golf shot yesterday!

Yesterday was the first time I was able to get out on the course this year. Because of the cold temps, our local courses were not able to open up until this past weekend.  Along with the cold temps, the lakes around the course still had ice on them.  There is one hole that you need to hit over the water onto a green along the edge of the lake.  I swung my wedge and got too far under the ball and it came up short, but instead of sinking to the bottom of the lake, it bounced off the ice and landed on the rough on the other side.  The guys I played with had never seen anyone do that before.

Anyone else ever had a shot like this?

Yah, what really sucks is when  your ball slides out to the middle of the ice and you can see it there, taunting you... but you know if you get out on the ice you're going to fall through

There was once a guy here with a set of Ping Eye 2s that I believe has done this many a time.

Maybe they'll freeze the lake at the masters! would make the water skipping par 3 very exciting.

Cool shot btw... talk about a lucky bounce :)

Driver: 10.5* callaway Razr Hawk Tour - 350 yards(usually into the wind, it can be windy here. at least 400 with a little wind behind me)

Hybrids: 2 and 3 callaway Hybrid razr tour (312 and 287 respectively)

Irons: 3i-10i callaway forged standard length(278, 263, 250, 235, 221, 213, 201, 190)

Wedges: callaway jaws cc 52* 12 approach, 56* 16 sand, 60* 13 lob (0-185)

Odyssey Black tour #9 putter(5 ft, i'm always at least within 5 feet on my approach shot)

I wonder who on this forum is a PGA tour pro, disguised as a normal player..

Back when I lived in upstate NY, I used to play a course called Evergreen CC. It was a course that never really closed for the winter. They would let people come out and play year round. When we got a decent temp day mid winter I would go play. There is an island par 3 where the lake is completely frozen all winter. On more than 1 occasion I have thinned a tee-shot and had it skip across the ice and roll up on the green.

      @boogielicious and I are definitely in for the Stay & Play and will need the extra night's stay on Friday.       Taking your dispersion and distance in consideration I analyzed the 4 posible ways to play the hole, or at least the ones that were listed here. I took the brown grass on the left as fescue were you need to punch out sideways to the fairway and rigth of the car path to be fescue too.  Driver "going for the green"  You have to aim more rigth, to the bunker in order to center your shotzone in between the fescue.  Wood of 240 over the bunkers I already like this one more for you. More room to land between the fescue. Balls in the fescue 11% down from 30% with driver. Improve of score from 4.55 to 4.40. 4 iron 210 yards besides the bunkers.    Also a wide area and your shot zone is better than previous ones. This makes almost the fescue dissapear. You really need to hit a bad one (sometimes shit happens). Because of that and only having 120 yards in this is the best choice so far. Down to 4.32 from 4.40. Finally the 6 Iron 180 yards to avoid all trouble.    Wide area an narrow dispersion for almost been in the fairway all the time. Similar than the previous one but 25 yards farther for the hole to avoid been in the bunkers. Average remains the same, 4.33 to 4.32.  Conclusion is easy. Either your 4iron or 6 iron of the tee are equaly good for you. Glad that you made par!
