aim a tad to the left (if you're a righty), move the ball up a little in your stance... move further away from the ball.

see what works best for you. anybody else, correct me if i'm wrong.

If you're pushing, you are probably under the plane, which makes you swing inside out.

A few questions to be sure: What are your divots like: deep, shallow, often no divot (choose one) Are you stronger with the longer clubs, especially the driver? Are your misses either hooks or pushes? How well do you play 150 yard fairway bunker shots?

wouldn't swinging inside-out cause a draw and not a push. i'm going through this right now with my irons. the longer the iron the worse the push. i'm really trying to work on turning my left shoulder up instead of around. that causes your hands to drop from the inside. its just been really hard for me to work into my swing, but when i do it right i actually hit a nice little draw. give it a shot.

If the clubface is square to the inside-to-out path, it's a push. If square to the target line, it's a draw.

Actually, the only way to push is inside-out. If you can answer the questions above, it will tell a lot about how to fix this.

I personally dont take divots too often. I sweep the ball but if i do decide to take one or hit it fat, they're usually straight where I think I'm aimed.
Are you stronger with the longer clubs, especially the driver?
Driver and 3 wood are my second strongest clubs next to my wedges but irons are the worst the longer they get though they aren't really that bad.
Are your misses either hooks or pushes?
Mostly pushes as of right now but I have been know to hook shots from time to time.
How well do you play 150 yard fairway bunker shots?
Considering the main course I play at has only 4 bunkers (all greenside) I don't play too many of them, but when I do I never seem to have too big a problem with them. Not much different than playing off pine straw in my opinion. (which is one thing my main course actually does have a lot of)

Your answers indicate an inside out swing that has a very shallow angle of approach, or what's known as under the plane. Here are a series of things to work on.

First, at setup make sure the club points at your belt buckle. Start the takeaway by moving the club with your gut as if the head and was stuck in the ground. Once the arms kick in make sure as you turn there is some lifting of the club. At the top, you want your right arm bent at an angle elbow down with your underarm visible, and your hands are above your shoulders. Start down by using the ground to stretch the left side of your torso. Make a motion that would throw your arms right off off your body if you had detachable arms like a Mannequin. These arms should hit the ground near the target line just ahead of the ball. RESIST moving the upper body area forward. Stay as bent over as you can swing left and finish with your hands as far from your left ear as you can. Some signs you are on plane: You will consistently take a divot and if you have a flat left wrist at impact, you will begin compressing the ball, gain a lot of distance and start getting a lot of backspin on your shorter irons. If you are using premium balls, expect to see them backing up! Divots will curve slightly left of the target.

    • Ok, I'm trying to find a feel to hit a consistent ball flight (irons).  My current predicament.  1. I try to do the arms down stuff better, with the club feeling like it is way behind me more. It's just a cluster of results. Most of the time, I can't get any speed on the swing. If I get my arms down faster, I just throw them out.  2. I focus all my attention on turning better. Pushing off with my left leg and getting my right side through better. On the DTL view, this doesn't produce anywhere close where the hands and club should be. The result is usually ball first contact, lower ball flight, more centered contact.  At this point, I am going with option 2. Stop thinking about what the hands do. Just make a shorter backswing, keep it wide, turn through. Somehow, the club head finds the ball. My focus is so much on just making sure I turn, it's like, "Oh, that contact was better.... Oh, that bell flight looks playable." If not, I will just be practicing my entire summer.
    • Nope, they spent too much money. They are in over 28 million on the football roster and related NIL compensation at this point. Boosters associated with any Texas college football team has HUGE sway. The AD is between a rock and a hard place. They put a lot of money into Sorsby, at the chance of winning a NC this year. If you move on, you basically wasted a lot.  This is why Ohio State wants 3 QB's they feel can start. That is why the backups the past 5 years at some point transfer. Texas Tech has no backup near the quality of Sorsby. If they move on, they are screwed for 2026.
    • Maybe there's something I still don't understand about the situation. Wouldn't Texas Tech do itself a favor to move on from Sorsby at this point?
    • Day 281 6-10 Full swing, fast, getting low point ahead of "towel".  Working on flow during this seems to help.
