Which clubs will help me improve my game the most and stay in the bag the longest

Hi All,

Basically im a beginner to golf, saying that i have played the game maybe 1-2 times a month and keep pace with a mate who plays off of 18. Ive been playing with non branded chinese clubs that i picked up for $80 for the whole set, mainly because i couldnt see the point in spending much considering i wasnt playing much. However now i am looking at taking up golf weekly and hopefully start to play more often and start to work away on my handicap. Now for the question im looking for clubs that are forgiving and will improve my game and i have come down to a choice between two sets of irons, the Callaway Razr xf irons or the Callaway X hot 2 irons. Basically im curious about which irons would be best for me, and which you would suggest to someone that is looking for high quality clubs to keep in the bag for a long time. Im looking at these because im going to buy them from the Callaway PreOwned shop. Any and all suggestions and reccomendations will be appreciated.

Your best bet is to go to a demo days or a store with the equipment to give you a good fitting. That being said, mizuno, ping, titleist are all great clubs that will last a long time.

If you are located in USA, I would say visit the demo days.

Also, try to find a golf clinic, which offers lowcost lessons to groups of beginners.

Or, you could find a teaching pro, take individual lessons, and have him help you find a set of clubs that fits what you need. Basically, you want to be able to test-hit the clubs you buy, to see if you can use them - can't test first if you buy online.
