Hi! It would be nice to get some advice how to gain more distance. 8 iron flights about 95 yards when club head speed is about 72mph. Gap between different irons is about 8 yards and its pretty constant. With really good swing I can sometimes hit 120 yards with 25 loft hybrid (6) or 160 yards with 10.5 loft driver I've been Playing Golf for: 6 month My current handicap index or average score is: 25.2 My typical ball flight is: High trajectory, straight The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: I need more distance, fat shots [rule] Videos:

Hi welcome to the site. To start to improve your contact your head needs to be more steady, not move so far to the right, on the backswing. Moving your head around as much as you do makes low point control much more "chaotic".

Some good resources for how to do that.

Thanks for the help! It makes sense now. If my head moves right during backswing I hit about inch or two behind the ball. Fat shot? I tried bottle drill today and got more solid contacts to the ball. I'll keep practicing this steady head thing and post new video next week. One thing I noticed is gap loss between irons. Same distance for 6 or 8 iron. Maybe I now forget to turn hips during downswing?

It depends on how you compensate for the head moving but yes it will lead to contact issues, fat and thin shots.

I am still learning #1 at range. My head moves little bit to the right during backswing but I see some improvement.

Here is another video from DL. I noticed that my hips are not moving at all. Actually I am moving backwards during downswing. Is it good idea to practice #1 and #2 at same time or is it better to handle #1 first before moving to #2?

Nice work, it's getting better, just keep doing it.

On the backswing make the left shoulder continues to move DOWN as it moves back. Almost feel like it's "bending" down towards your right hip.

Next part is some practice to do at home, without a ball or with a ball but slow swings. From the top of your backswing, push your lower body forward. This is going to feel very awkward at first but it's really going to help with your contact and distance issues.

Hips don't transfer forward enough and that effects your Key #3 pieces.

    • Day 76 - Pretty sore today, so I opted for putting over my Stack session. Primary focus was on starting line, as my putting has been pretty poor this year.
    • Been a bit of delay in updates but I needed to come back east as my mom's health has taken a serious turn for the worse. In a 3 day span we learned she had a tumor to she has stage 4 cancer and stopped eating and drinking for the most part. She has had a rough 3 months but certainly didn't think we'd be at the point of setting up hospice for her. My mom was never into any sports really other than following the Red Sox because my dad was a big fan. She always cared about what we were involved in including asking about how golf went.  I have kept up with my 5 minutes of daily practice and will go to the gym here in NH tomorrow morning. Despite the somber nature of this trip my family has commented more than a few times about my weight loss so it's important to me to keep it up. I know my mom always wanted us happy in whatever we did so I'll continue with my fitness journey keeping that in mind.
    • Day 109- Putting drills on a putting green for 20 minutes.
    • Day 252: did a stack session. Did some slow rehearsal swings during breaks.
    • Day 82: 3/18/24 Tried a Stack session but could not certify my warmup. Finished with indoor chips and putting.
