Opinions on Tour Edge Irons/Hybrid/Driver?

Hey everyone,

I am looking to buy some new clubs.

I was talking to the head pro at the course where I take lessons, and he recommended Tour Edge JMax QL Irons/hybrid/driver. They seemed relatively cheap compared to other irons/hybrid/drivers I have looked at. I have only been playing for about a year now so I don't really know that much about clubs.

Does anyone play with these clubs that would like to share any info on them?
Are they good clubs?
Is Tour Edge a good brand that makes reliable clubs?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

TourEdge has been around for about 25 years. Check out the new Geo Max driver and hybrid set. The hybrids got better reviews than Clevelands Hibore, and they are reasonably priced.

They're phenomenal clubs, very good quality and the Exotics line is perhaps the highest performing line on the market. Did anyone watch the Skins game and see the Trackman data for Zach Johnson? His Exotics CB-2 3 wood gave him better ball speed than his driver. My 16.5 degree four wood goes farther than any other three wood I've ever had. I had to go to a four wood since the 15 degree three wood simply went too far. Their value Tour Edge line is by far the best value in golf, very high performance combined with a great price. You can't go wrong with it.

I am looking at the JMax QL though, not the Exotics. I have heard many good things about these clubs though. I tried the 3-wood demo out and it felt amazing. The only thing that worries me is that I never really here anything about Tour Edge. This doesnt mean they are bad clubs, or brand, but I just didnt want to pay that much for an off brand name that no one else has ever heard of. That may sound stupid though. Anyway, so your saying that any clubs from them should be well made and reliable? Thanks again.

Before i got my titleist irons this year i had Tour Edge Jmax Bazookas and i loved them to death. THe only reason i switched was because they became too short and were pretty beat up. Go get that set right now.

Buy with confidence, you won't be dissapointed. Tour Edge may not have the same advertising budget of other OEM's, but their products are just as good and they stand behind them 100%. Tour Edge clubs could not be further from off brands.

The head pro at the shop was having me demo the Tour Edges (JMax QL Irons) and PING Rapture Irons. Since I'm pretty new to the game, I didnt really know much about how the clubs should feel when hitting them so he gave me some demos of each to go home with and practice with until my next lesson. I did so and as I got in a groove from practicing so often, they both felt pretty solid and good. I went back for my next lesson and told him this. He wrote down the prices of each (Iron set, hybrid, woods, and driver) brand and the price difference was UNBELIEVABLE. The Tour Edge clubs came out to about $630.00 including tax and the PINGs were over $1500.00!!!!! I couldnt believe it. But then he told me that Callaway Big Bertha were also a good option for me, however they too were more expensive than the Tour Edge. So now I am still thinking, but I think I'm leaning towards the Tour Edge. Thanks again and sorry for the long post.

I had the Bazookas, as my first set of real clubs. They are great clubs, they get the ball up and are a greats et of entry level clubs. The only downside to them is that they are a bit heavy, but it didn't really affect me as they where my first clubs. My buddies complained about the weight when they swung them but they swing forged mizunos so they are in a different league. I had mine for almost a year, and still looked in great shape. They are great for beginning golfers because they do get the ball up and out, so its good for the confidence. They are not very good for working the ball, but if you are starting out and want a great quality entry level set the Bazookas are great. When I had my set I got 5-PW in irons and a 4 hybrid. and I have since sold my irons but still use the hybrid. I still could be playing them, but the lack ofworkability and me just wanting a newer set of irons was thereal reason I upgraded.

Driver: G10 10.5 v2 shaft
3 wood: g10
Irons: I5's green dot
Putter: G5 anser
Wedges: CG12, 52*, 56*Ball: : E6+

I have played a number of tour edge products over the years. I currently play 3 & 4 hybrids and an exotics 3wd. I believe their best products are their hybrids and woods. They make under appreciated traditional wedges also. The irons are solid game improvement irons at a great price. But the short irons won't make a single digit player happy, to wide a sole.

Hi guys I am in the same boat, wanting an EXTREMELY long hitting driver and fairway, and these seem to guarentee to do it. Do they really work??? Because if they did I could hit a fairway wood further than my current driver.

Whataya know, I have a Wilson driver currently too. I hate it.

I have tried out the woods and hybrid Tour Edge and they were pretty nice. Reasonably priced as well. I haven't tried the driver though.

I'm late to this thread and my reply probably isn't of any use now, but I've gone heavy into tour edge equipment in the last 8 months and wouldn't go back. Awesome performance, awesome quality, and awesome value.

I have Bazooka jmax QL hybrids from 3 through 6 and am thinking of going all the way to 9 iron - they are that much fun to hit...

I compared 3 woods of the:

Tour Edge GEOMAX
Cleveland HiBORE
Cobra Speed LD M
Mizuno F-60
TaylorMade Burner '07
PING G10 Draw
Callaway Big Bertha '07
Nike Sasquatch 2 (not square)

The best average distance club is at top and the worst at bottom. All were tested in one day with a launch monitor, Bridgestone e5 ball, and a really expensive mat. I have no idea if the monitor was honestly set up and not programed to push a certain product. I did not tee up the ball. The GEOMAX was the lowest priced AND best performer tried! That says a great deal.
