hey guys,

for a quick bit of background info... i usually shoot around 90 and have been playing for about 2 years on and off with mates just using second hand clubs. recently i decided to get lessons because i really enjoy playing and im keen to improve (who isnt), and the first thing i was told was that my swing was ok but my clubs were an inch and a half to short (they were an inch under standard) and i need to get them 2 degrees upright. so i figured it was time to get some decent clubs and i went and tried a whole heap and really liked the ping g10 irons, so i got them them and love them! then i had a fairly impulsive moment, i was on the market for a new driver and had heard so many thing about how good the g10 driver was so i went and tried it and got it. now i love this driver and i hit the ball so much further then i ever did and its great but i seem to struggle to control the thing with its massive 45.75" shaft. now im considering getting it shortened but im so confused on what to do, do i get the current one i have cut down and get some sort of weight put in to maintain its swing weight or should i just get a new heavier shaft?? what is the best option?

thanks in advance

Whatever you do, don't swing a Burner, then.

Advice: Man up and get used to it.

How tall are you?

How well do you hit it first off? It is about how you hit it not how long it is necessarily. A standard shaft is 45" so why don't you just choke up a little bit? Saves money and keeps the same weight :)

I own a Ping G10 Driver myself and I'm 5'10. The length with my height and arms seem perfectly fine to me. As far as the Burner driver comment made above, I actually tested out my buddies Burner TP and the length was the same as my G10.

+1 on get used to it.
Sounds like you're tall, if you're using irons at +1/2", choke down a bit if you need to, and get some more of them there lessons :)
