Now that the winter is almost over I still need to keep my interest peaked. What are good golf books (golf courses, instruction, fiction, non-fiction etc.) to pick up to pass the time until the weather breaks for good? I want to keep my mind stimulated with all things golf.

My coach suggested me to read the book "The Inner Game of Golf".
It is about the mental part of golf.

I haven't ordered it yet, so I cannot judge it by now, but the Amazon ranking is very good!

All of Bob Rotella's books are excellent for the mental aspects of the game. I frequently look over them to get myself into a positive frame of mind! Definitely highly recommended!

I recently read a few books based on some recommendations on this site.

Harvey Penick's Little Red Book - Great book, easy to read, and a nice reference if you need to freshen up.

Art of Putting (Stan Utely) - I wanted to try something new and I have seen good results so far.

Five Lessons (Ben Hogan) - It's a little tough to read being that it was written 50 years ago. Still good knowledge in there especially the fundamentals of grip, stance, and setup. Probably not a great book for more advanced golfers.

Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect (Bob Rotella) - I can't wait to put this book to use. I have never been able to play with a clear mind and I honestly believe this will drastically keep my head in the game. Highly recommended!

I'll be checking some others out from the library soon.

"The Open" by John Feinstein.

You are going to love "Tales from Q School." It's so well written that at certain points I actually felt as if I was there. Some of the stories are gut wrenching, especially when Feinstein includes the players' personal lives. You won't be disappointed.

I recently read a few books based on some recommendations on this site.

Those are the only four golf books I have ever read, and I believe that they were all excellent books. If I had to pick one, I would choose Harvey Penick's Little Red Book. I picked up so much from that book.

The Greatest Game Ever Played, about the battle at Brookline between Ouimet, Vardon, and Ray is a very good winter read.

Going off of that book...the same Author, Mark Frost is "The Match" about the secret match between Ben Hogan & Byron Nelson (Top Professionals) and Ken Venturi and Harvie Ward (Top Amatures). It is a great read.

My next read will "The Grand Slam" about Bobby Jones. On the Instructional side...I picked up "The Seven Principles of Golf" by Darrin Gee about the mental side of golf
