Urban Golf

I’m enjoying the weather, reading outside with a water view in the park and I swear to god I heard the sound of well struck wedge. I turn around and lo and behold this. Dude is practicing finesse wedges.  Golf, finds a way. I’ve thought of doing this myself but never got around to it.

This is a fairly common practice in the Mitten State.  In March and April many of the ranges limit hitting to mats.  If one wants the feel of hitting from grass and a less than perfect lie, it is off to the park.  There is a large grassy park with several softball/baseball fields in Ann Arbor.  I take my shag bag, set up on one end and hit balls to stick targets I have gps-measured.  Walk to the far end and repeat.

Of course chopping up a park's grass is pretty rude so I replace divots and limit my hitting to foul ball areas in the outfield.
