Are you practising stack and tilt.

I'd guess no. So its worth pointing out that in the DTL view, during your backswing your right knee completley looses its flex. Try to keep it flexed the same way it was at address.

Also you're across the line at the top. And your left heel comes up off the ground. So I would suggest you are trying for too much turn. Try keeping the backswing shorter and more compact and keep the left heel on the ground.

Hpope this helps.

Edit : By across the line I meant that you are past parallel, For some reason in the DTL view I can't see the top of your swing, so I don't know if you are across the line or not...

From looking at the down the line, it seems that the golf ball is turning (slicing) to the right. Is that your normal miss?

Yes...but I would say if I try to swing to hard I miss big time...So I have been trying to slow down...find the right tempo.

Funny thing is that I do not slice with my irons...I am pretty straight...sometimes a slight fade.

Hey Divot.

Nice forward swing rotation!!!!

O.K., now for what I see as bad.

1) You sway too much back during your back swing. The left edge of your hip is even with the out step of your right foot. Learn to keep your left hip and weight over the inside of your right foot. You'll have better balance and be able to more easily make the forward move.

2) Too flat/inside of a back turn. When your club shaft is parallel with the ground during the back swing, it should be pointing directly away from the target and on line with it. You overturn your shoulders with your inside move and actually reverse pivot at the top. Turn your shoulders back to only 85Β° to 90Β°. Don't let your club shaft cross parallel like Geezer pointed out. Swing a little more up right. Your current flaw will lead to inconsistent ball striking and loss of power.

I'll comment for the fun of it but please take this with the appropriate amount of salt.

Your left foot is coming way off the ground in the back swing and you're losing your base. I'd strive for a quieter lower body which will probably shorten up your swing. I'm sure you won't lose distance because of it. A good base will add quiet power to your swing.

And add some zen by trying not to swing so hard.

I've only got the face on view. Some thoughts:

1. Since your using a wood, you've got the ball too far back in your stance.

2. Need to get your left foot turned outward more at the address position. You've got it basically at the 90 degree position. You need it about 70 degrees.

3. Lower body movement is giving you the most problem. Your right knee flex should stay virtually the same from address to the top of your swing. From the very beginning you start flexing your right knee too much and at the top of your swing your weight has transferred outside of right leg. My suggestion is to try the ole ball drill. Just get a range ball and put it under your right foot, but on the outside part of the right foot. As long as you keep your knee flexed, you will get the right feeling of keeping your weight transfer inside the right leg. It's important that you keep the knee flexed properly on the backswing or you will start reverse pivoting.

There's other things as well, but your lower body is your main deterrant to better golf.

    • Although the base rules don't make this really clear, the Player must have decided to use Unplayable Ball relief before lifting the ball.  This exact situation is discussed in the Committee Procedures section of the Rules, section 6C(8).  Section 6C addresses how to rule when a Player proceeds under a Rule that does not apply.  Note that 9.4 applies, 9.4 deals with a player moving his ball when no rule allows it.   Rule 9.4 penalizes the Player for lifting his ball when not permitted by the Rules, and requires him to replace it.  Since he dropped and played from a different place, the Wrong Place penalty applies.  As for a serious breach, that would only apply if the Wrong Place gave him a really significant advantage.  Since he could have taken Unplayable Ball relief in essentially the same spot, for just 1 penalty stroke, the Wrong Place penalty of 2 strokes is enough "punishment", there's no need to consider a DQ.
