If you are looking for a sponsor for clubs, balls, shoes, etc. nobody is really going to look at you unless you are playing in some tournaments and being competitive or at least promising (unless you are an assistant pro, shop pro etc on staff with a company). In South Florida, I would put that rating at a minimum of +2. It could be different in other places, but scratch down here is not that uncommon and while it could be enough to be a top ranked amatuer, in the pro events (mini tour, sectionals) it would not make it, at least not here.

The first place to start is to begin playing some tournaments and build your resume.

Callaway AI Smoke TD Max 10.5* | Cobra Big Tour 15.5* | Rad Tour 18.5* | Titleist U500 4i | T100 5-P | Vokey 50/8* F, 54/10* S,  58/10* S | Scotty Cameron Squareback 1

I got mine because I work at a club. Most golf shop employees will be put "on staff" with a manufacturer in order to push their clubs and they'll get free stuff in return.

One could also go the tournament experience route as TourSpoon stated in hopes to get noticed.

Callaway RazrFit Extreme 9.5 w/Project X 6.5
Callaway XHot Pro 15* 3Wood w/Project X 6.5
Callaway XTour 18* 2h w/S300
Callaway XHot Pro 4/5 irons w/S300
Callaway XForged III 5-PW irons w/S300
Callaway Forged 52*/58* Wedges
Odyssey 7 Versa 90
Callaway Hex Black Tour
