Last week I had a couple of greens with cup lump. I don't know what's worse, that, or goose poop. As for the tees, finding a level stance is first, followed by using a marker to help alignment.

There are times when moving to one side of the other of the tee box can make a difference. The 15th hole at Grandview is one example. The hole is a dogleg right with a large Cottonwood tree out on the right side of the fairway about 60 yards and before the dogleg. Here's how it looks from the right side of the tee box out towards the dogleg. The tall Poplar trees start about 150 yards out.

You can see quite a bit further around the corner from the left side. Also makes it a bit easier to get around the corner. I drive from the left side and aim for the left edge of the Cottonwood. Surprisingly, I often hit it pretty well out, around and down the fairway...

Oh! Ok that makes perfect sense, I will try this out the next time I’m out. I just usually line up down the middle and hit my shot. I am new to the game so I’m still learning.

I use the tee markers to widen the fairway... and to close off one side of the fairway.

This is what I do as well - sometimes.  Usually I just look for a flat spot.
