I notice that the 48 degree Vokey SM7 wedge is only available in the F grind with 10 degrees of bounce.

My existing 52 degree SM7 wedge (also F grind) is only 8 degrees of bounce, so it seems strange for the bounce to be higher on a lower lofted club.

Is there some logical reason for this?

Well according to the chart, the reason is because you bought the low bounce version of the 52° wedge 😉

I wouldn’t really class 8 degrees as low bounce, but maybe I’m wrong.

Strange that there’s only one 48 degree option (for both bounce and grind).

My pitching wedge has 14° bounce, and my 60° wedge has 22°. 🙂

There's more to how bounce "works," too, than that numbe

Strange that they only do one option (bounce and grind) for a 48 degree wedge. There must be a good reason, I guess.

They treat it more like a PW in terms of bounce and grind. Irons don’t have relief toward the heel because most players don’t open the face on full swings.

if you go to the Vokey site, they explain their reasoning on bounce and grind shapes.

    • Day 44 (7 Mar 25) - It’s Friday, so it was the weekly round I play with the men’s group.  Solid day scoring wise for me - 42 front/ 41 back for an 83.  Of the 8 pars - 6 were up and downs (yeah buddy, those short game drills are paying off).  Best hole of the day was #13, a pretty straight up par 5.  Third shot was a 90 yarder - I played the INDI 50° to less than 2’ for a kick in birdie.  Its siblings were on as well - it was a short game kind of day.  It was not all good stuff with 3 dbl bogies….missed opportunities hurt the score still a great day to make the most of nGIR (thanks Erik for the teaching on this in Lowest Score Wins).
