Hi all,
Rather new to golf. Currently cleaning up some Mizuno MX-19’s I’ve been given. The set is missing a 5 and a 7 iron though. Anyone know of a good 2nd hand 34 degree loft and similar hand length to sub it out for?

Just learn to play without them for now. My first set of clubs didn't have a 6-iron. If you're new, the feel and what you'll learn trying to manufacture some of the in-between shots will be valuable in the end.

I second this. When I was growing up and getting into the game, my dad cut down one set of irons into an odd set (for when I was 4-7) and an even set (8-13). Obviously my distances were a lot closer together at that age, but I still learned a lot about what could be done with a less than optimal tool for the job. Now when I have overhanging trees or some other obstruction to my natural shot shape for a given distance, I know that there is always another option to get the ball close/closer to the hole.

I'd say just rock the evens and learn to play around the gaps until you have a solid, repeatable swing. You'll learn more without those clubs than you think.

Rather then trying to find matching irons you might want to look at some hybrids in the lofts you are looking for.

Funnily enough my wife brought me a 5H fybrid for Christmas to match my 3 and 4H fybrid. And after playing around with some spare clubs I’ve found a Lynx boom boom 7 iron that seems to fill the gap nicely.

Good for you, Merry Christmas.

    • Day 313 - I played 18 today. First and last holes were ugly, but I actually played pretty well. Driver was great, irons were alright, and the short game was better than average.
    • Day 205 (23 Nov 24) - Worked with the alignment rod and 7i  in reference to ball position in relation to lead foot on full iron shots, noticed an increase in thinned shots last couple of rounds - better contact with the balls (hard foam) during the drill/swing rehearsals.
    • Have you gone to a fitting? A good fitting will not only give you a clubhead but a shaft, etc. that will suit you.
    • It's not like the Nike Vapor Pro are exactly a highly sought set of irons.
    • Last night I was putting my Nike Vapor Pro Irons back in my bag.  I had my sons i500’s in there the last couple months after we all went to Top Golf .  I picked up the Nike’s this past spring and they are like new.  I feel guilty using them… I have other irons that aren’t valuable that I could use instead.
