Hello from it's not raining now but will be soon Bellingham, Washington.

What a great site, I stumbled across it goggling which loft wedges people recommended and found some very useful information. I can't wait to dig further into the website. I can feel this is the year I break 90.

My home course is North Bellingham Golf Course, nice little links style as long as the wind isn't blowing to hard.

I look foward to chatting.

Cheers,

Hi and Welcome too!

I'm so new, I can't even ask my question yet... it's killing me!

It has started to Thaw here in Minneapolis, MN... and it is going to be a long wait for the greens to open!

I just got some new equipment... finally with 14 potential clubs in my bag!

Nike SQatch Lucky 13 driver (yep, I'm a newbie and got a great deal on it used)
Wilson 3 and 5 woods... from a junk shop, pretty beat but not bad, they came with my recently retired Wilson Junk Shop Irons (heavy used, oversized perimeter weighted) The 4 and 8 irons where missing, making the set less useful.
Brand New lightly Used Wilson Staff Pi5 Irons 3-PW (very happy after one trip to the golfdome)
(3iron is going to get replaced with a Hybrid fast)
Adams Sand Wedge
Wilson Syncronized Lob Wedge
Landlords forgotten Lost&Found; in Basement Jack Nicklaus Putter... I want to replace it with an Anser clone of some sort.

You will learn more about my equipment when I can start a thread... I got some serious questions for you all!

    • Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.
    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.
