I'm working on compiling info on new golf equipment. For those of you that keep up on the new equipment, what can you tell me about the products that are new in 2008? What new lines of clubs are out there? What about any cool new accessories? How about new balls? I actually know a little bit about the high end stuff, like the Callaway Tour-IX and the Titliest Pro V1, but what about some new cheaper models that also perform well?

my favourite not so expensive balls

Titleist NXT Tour
Top Flite Strata
Pinnacle Exception
Srixon
Precept Laddie

I also look out for end of line balls that are still new

............Maxfli Revolution and Elite-they are still great balls.

Metal,

TST has an excellent review section. You can find almost everything that is new for 2008, there: irons, balls, drivers, etc.

Also, take a visit to the Equipment section. There is a thread about 2008 items.

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

Buy the ProV1's or 1x's out of the X out bin, $24 a dozen at the local GOLF USA, i sort through the bin pretty good, hard to find the blemishes on the balls i pick at $2 each...the way i look at it..once you hit them...they got a blemish! Also was told the first batch of balls from titleist on the Prov's are automatically marked as practice, I'd take them also at $29 a dozen if I had to.

In the Bag...Ping Hoofer

Baffler DWS 20* Aldila NV Stiff 4-GW 600XC Forged Irons- S Flex 55* SW - Burner XD 60* LW - Burner XD Craz E Putter <----ProV1x---> Pellet

Check out Golfsmith.com and the custom-made golf clubs. They are great clubs and I feel that they are the same, if better, than the Taylormades and Titleists of the world.

imo, most new golf equipment outside of golf balls is useless as it focuses on forgiveness and therefore doesn't inspire the necessary steps to tighten up wild swings and while the golf balls are better, i feel they should be made illegal so our majestic golf courses aren't overpowered

They will beat their swords into golf clubs and their spears into putters. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Old Tom Morris 2:4
