I was wondering what stretching drills golfers use for greater flexibility? For me, the club seems to feel restricted on my backswing, especially for the driver. I try not to be a mechanical swinger because I over-analyze every part of the swing, but I would like to have some more rotation and wider shoulder turn on my backswing. Any books, websites, or drills would be helpful. Thanks

Also, I have lately had lower back pain from going to the range and would like to know of any helpful drills for perserving my lower back. It seems to be in my finish that I hurt my back. Does that I am probably doing something wrong that I need to correct before it becomes a serious problem?

I am only 16 and would like to play golf my whole life hopefully pain free. I do weight training, but no bench pressing, dead lifts, or any heavy weights that can lead to the back pain.

The short answer is to look into yoga, especially once you get to university, as the classes tend to be offered. Yoga is all about strength through flexibility, despite what Street Fighter may have caused you to believe.

I'm at the office at the moment, but I'll post more flexibility comments - drills, exercises, and the benefits I believe they give - from home this evening if my internet is up.

ditto on shindig's yoga, especially as you get older

also, its good to treat the body health as a whole and do exercises for the whole body and not just focus on the lower back
