They are very classy looking clubs.

But, If I were to get new clubs, they would be: Muria (SP) Blades.

I picked up my new sticks earlier this week. I got the chrome version. I love them. Too pretty to hit. I went to play my first round with them and on the first hole I scratch the bottom of my Pitching Weidge. Kind of pissed me off since they were brand spanking new. I guess those type things will come just have to try an minimize the amount of nics and scraps. They hit great.

Sorry about the nick. Just consider them character marks. How is their forgiveness/workability?

Not 100% sure yet, but they feel sweet? If one of the irons gets too messed up can one purchase just one iron for replacement from the manufacturer? I have never had to before and was just wondering.

You can replace any one iron. I think an order to Titleist through your friendly neighborhood golf retailer will do it.

I received a set of 735s in chrome today. Damn good looking clubs. Not sure I dig the "satin in the middle of all that chrome" look - my 680s are chrome all over, of course - but I'm also fairly certain it's just an adjustment type of thing. I'm not used to seeing it, so, I'll get used to it quickly.

I've really learned to hit a lot of shots lately, and I got the 680s over the 690.CB because the .CB still hit the ball a little too high and because I pick the ball a little more cleanly than people needing the wider sole of the 690. It'll be interesting to see how these 735s fare.

    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
    • I had an interesting one yesterday, a local qualifier for the US Senior Open, at the Cascades Course at the Homestead.  Well, first things first, the VSGA arrnged for the officials to play the Cascades on Monday at the players' practice round rate.  Its lots of fun, rather old-style (built in the 1920s).  anyway, a player missed a short putt, and (apparently embarrassed) took a step to be ready to tap the ball back in.  The ball lipped out, and hit the player's foot.  I was nearby, and they waved me over, and asked "What do we do now?"  I was pretty sure of the ruling, but asked them to wait for a few seconds while i double-checked.  I did have it correct, even though its one of the more confusing rules in the book right now.  I'll leave the correct answer out for now, in case anyone wants to guess, or research it, and post their ruling.
