Over here we have a product called voltaren. It is potassium diclofenac. (spelling?) Not sure if you can get it in the States or what it is called, would be interested to know if anyone uses it.

This works really well as it relieves pain and loosens you up (anti inflammatory). Not good for the stomach (and plenty of other nasty side effects) and a good indicator for me that my back strength is falling away when I have to start taking these to play... However, I will go from hardly being able to walk to being able to play within half an hour!

None of the above....I use Motrin. Works like a charm for me. However, I would imagine what works best really depends on what's the true cause of your back pain.

Funny you say bring this up, I lived off of Advil, but startedusing aleve and it seemed to work better. Now I had a prescritiption that I would take pre round then follow up with aleve or advil at the turn as well... my discs are pretty bad so I live off the stuff.

I do know that I've takend these plus like 8 advil around and still was unable to play because of the pain. Love the back!

I broke my wrist as a kid learning how to skate, and we never got it fixed right. So, I get a very sharp pain and it becomes very immoble and stiff every now and then. So, when it's acting up and I plan on playing I take some Tylenol Artwritis. Seems to work...

Advil. Otherwise, Tylenol. I usually exceed the recommended dosage (shh, don't tell anyone) and take three minimum or 4 for worse pain.

I can't take ibuprofin (Advil, Motrin) or naproxin (Aleve) because of kidney problems and those products are rough on the kidneys. I normally dose up with Tylenol when I'm leaving the house on the way to the course. Dosing before the round keeps me more comfortable during the round and I experience much less discomfort later...

Aleve for my back seems to be the best. However, a Motrin 800 is my favorite when I can get one. Great for the pain without effecting the brain. A friend has major problems so they give them to him all the time. He tries not to take them too often so I will get a few from him when I need it.

Thanks for the feedback. I remember reading something about either Advil or Aleve raising your blood pressure...not sure though. Higher BP on the course would not be a good thing.

Ditto the first part. I only take a Tylenol if I've got a serious headache - no such problems on the course however.

I prefer motrin and a LOT of stretching for my back pain. I have found in this off-season that stretching my hamstrings helps just as much as the Motrin but I am sure that is case specific.

Generally I like to stretch the muscle as much as I can..before i try a pain reliever..but I actually use something that might seem strange...I use Vicks vapor Rub...it might seem weird but it actually works for me whenever i have a muscle that aches..Though I would recommend Advil--i just think its the best

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

    • 39, +4. A bit better hip slide stuff. More lateral, less turn with the hips.
    • Day 11: Worked on putting with the metronome
    • I added to total today by hopping it in on the first hole for an eagle. A short par 4, I hit 4 wood to 110. With a little breeze in my face I hit a 50 degree gap wedge to 2 feet and watched it hop into the hole for an eagle 2!
    • Sounds good. Text me if you have any questions. You have a good setup, too, and so long as you can get good camera angles… you should be good. https://skillest.com/@iacas
    • Day 14 (September 18).  Morning practice, despite questionable weather (it's raining).   Worked on chipping at first, including run-ups with UW and PW;  I've noticed lately some of my near-GIRs are missing forward, with nothing but grass ahead of me, but 20-30 yards to the pin.  After a few misadventures putting those lately, I wanted to at least get a feeling for what a 30-yard chip shot that doesn't have the variance of my quarter lob wedge would feel like.  I still think "putt when you can putt" is right, but... I am less sure I have a 30 yard putt in me.  Range time also, of course, same routine as the past week or so (drill, 3-4 slow shots, etc).   Did not get to the putting green as it was starting to come down a bit more. Darn, it really is raining.  And I thought today would be a perfect day to play, seeing as how it's 9-18 and all.
