Does anybody know of some fade biased irons that still have some forgiveness in them?

A fade biased iron? Never heard of that before. I would guess a game improvement club without a huge amount of offset would be good for a fade. The nike NDS with the uniflex shaft might be a good club for that, but I don't know if they are still produced or not.

I havent heard anything...but it might be the new trend in the market..fade based clubs---

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

Never heard of fade based irons, but DavidFehertysBike is right, look for a club with a smaller offset, and this will allow you to hit a fade much easier then with a large offset iron.

The nearest you will get to a fade biased iron is an iron with very little ofset, if you want some forgiveness as well I suggest you look at the Callaway X Forged or irons of a similar ilk.

the x-forged are not very forgiving, let me tell you. minimal offset. thin topline and thin sole, these clubs don't give me much grace. perfect clubs if they are hit correctly, but if they are mis-hit, dont expect much.

I'd say I muscle/Cavity back club thats made for people transitioning. They would have a minimal offset but still the forgiveness your looking for.

Any iron can be a fade biased iron if you change your grip.

I totally agree. I demoed the X-forged and loved the look, but I had a little bit of a difficult time getting consistency out of them with my game.

I demoed with the X-20 Tours based on a recommendation from the my pro and they are more forgiving compared to the X-forged clubs. My tendency is to hit a fade and I easily hit that shot with these clubs. I can also work the ball a little left at times if I need to. Mishits are not as bad for me as with the X-forged clubs.

I agree with srjorion. Useless149, I would try out the x-20 tour as well. they have a more traditional look with less offset then the regular x-20's, and that small offset will allow you to work a fade with these irons, without giving up the forgiveness of a cavityback.

    • This is an awesome breakdown. most of the bigger tournaments usually have one wave with the advantage, Thank you for the breakdown. If it is soft then it will be a lower final score
    • Over the past 15 years, the winning score has ranged from -10 to -20. Mostly around -13.  Here is Thursday and Friday weather. Saturday and Sunday weather. I think the course will play soft. Plenty of sky cover, lots of rain on Thursday. Fairways and greens will probably stay soft throughout the week.  In terms of tee times, I think Thursday morning and Friday afternoon have the biggest advantage. • We have a very difficult but mostly showy course this week. Lets see what they got. This course offers so many chances to get into trouble it is really a mental minefield. I am excited to see who can handle it and who cant. Last year we got a foreshadowing of JJ and Rory, I am excited for this year Who do people have winning? what will the winning score be? I am thinking 12 or 13 under
