I bought full set of Mavrik Irons in April 2021

Played them approximately 70 rounds since May

in the last two weeks the 5, 7 and 8 have both fractured in the same place, 1.5 inches below the grip on the second “dimple” in the steel shaft

the clubs broke on the follow through.  The 7 and 8 broke on the same hole off the Tee

i did not hit the ground!

thoughts?

I think the steel shafts are faulty

Follow up with Callaway.

Either one or a combo of these seem likely:

  • You got a bad batch of shafts.
  • You're doing something to weaken the shafts there.
  • You're using shafts that are too weak/light for your swing.
  • You have a really violent transition as that spot is a high-stress spot on a lot of shafts.

Either way since they're less than a year old Callaway should help you out.

  • Thumbs Up 1
