Suggest me some drills or good moves on how to release & when? I having some issues due to my shoulder movement. What would help me better to get back on track or if some golf training aid would help me?

The thread title is confusing. That being said, I like the first five drills in this thread below, especially Day 5. Release is more about proper sequencing than something we try to do with our wrists.

I release many golf balls back into the wild.... That is assuming you consider the wild to be the trees lining the fairway of any golf course I play on.

Keeping golf balls in captivity is just wrong. And in my opinion it needs to stop.

I’ve been using a thick rope at about 3/4 the length of a 7iron.  Maximum wrist cock usually occurs at A5 (when arm is parallel to ground on down swing).  So after that, you are “releasing.” Many people have this image of actively pushing their hands ahead of the ball for impact, which tends gets the swing armsy.  Swing a rope and try to have the rope straight at and through impact. If you are armsy, the rope may have slack because of being constantly accelerated.  The hands getting ahead of the ball will happen with good rotation and movement of the body.

I renamed the topic. @Bernie Fay, if the title is still not quite what you're asking… just let us know what a better title would be.

"Lag happens" or "the release happens" if you do a lot of things before it properly. I generally improve the "release" by improving setup, the backswing, etc.

Your own training aid could be somewhat useful, perhaps, in getting the right elbow higher and wider.

    • It may not have been block practice, though, is one of the main points here. You may have been serving and from the same place, but you were likely trying to do slightly different things. It seems that would only be blocked practice if you were trying to hit the same exact ball hit to you to the same exact place in the far court. I'm not sure that's as random as if the ball that you're given to hit is at different places, too, but again…
    • I played tennis in college. I thought block practice was great for serves because you were starting the point and  you could easily adjust where you wanted to place the ball based off the same motion. I equate those to tee balls. I despised block practice for groundstrokes once you reached a certain level and your fundamentals were good. To me, hitting a 100 crosscourt backhands in a row was silly because I would never do that in a match. I needed to randomize it by hitting some deep, some angled, all with different speeds and spins. I share that same thought about iron play. Because we seldom hit the same approach shots hole after hole, I prefer to practice irons randomly.
