I have a current Callaway Steelhead 3W with a steel shaft. I have had this for many years and love it. But I wonder if some newer technology would help improve my 3W accuracy, etc.

I like the feel of this club off the tee and also from the fairway and rough. It has a slight teardrop shape, rather than the flat bottom.

I know the new Nike Sumo2 fairway wood got great reviews in the recent Golf Magazine...what other 3W's would compare?

I had a Steelhead and switched to a TM V-Steel through tgw.com. It may not be the latest release...but sure is an awesome 3W

i just traded my Callaway X 3 wood for the MacGregor mactec NVG--it has a lower profile and a sharper bottom line..

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

With the exception of Callaway's X Hot, Cleveland's HiBore and Nike's SasQuatch 2 fairway woods, every other 3-wood is going to look HUGE compared to your Steelhead. Take a look at the Adam's Insight line (Adams make some of the best fairway woods on the market) or even MacGregor's new MT line, both have been well received.

My three wood for the previous five years was the Callaway Steelhead 3+ with the uniflex steel shaft. I changed to the Titleist 906f4 13.5 degree to try and achieve a higher ball flight and greater distance, which it has done. It's worth a try and it's seems to be easy to hit off the deck.
