I was on a steroid regimen back in the day. We didn't have hgh back then.
I did a 6 week on 6 week off deal for little over a year. I ate 6000 cal. a day.
I did recover really fast, and of course I was got pretty big. I was Mountain Bike racing and was planning on going pro.

Looking back it was one of the dumbest things I have ever done..I was lucky nothing happened to me.

I think that there are more long term consequences than there are short term benefits. Spend the money on a new wedge. Earn success on your own through hard work.

Monster Tour 10.5* w/ Redboard 63

Idea Pro 18* w/ VS Proto 80s

To me, achievement seems a lot less meaningful when it is so artificially manipulated. I almost feel the same about athletes who have access to multimillion dollar training regimens/facilities/trainers.

I think sports would be much more interesting if the preparation and performance stemmed from an even playing field.

What's in my bag:
Cleveland Hibore XLS Monster Driver
TourEdge Exotics 2,3,4 hybrid irons
Tommy Armour 845cs Silverbacks 5-PW
Assorted wedges, Ping Scottsdale Anser

I am not really refering to me, for I am 6'3 and 210 pounds of muscle... :)

It just seems that this is where professional sports in general is heading. Check out www.moredistance.com and tell me this cat is not juiced up. His veins look riduculous...

This could get out of hand quick.....

You guys need to make sure you fully understand what hgh, steroids do for the body, don't just listen to the TV and think you know it all.

I am not in any way saying it's good, just educate yourself about both.
To say someone is a "cheater" is not the view I take on it...

Actually, I think HGH would have very little to no effect on a younger guys game.

However, get to be Gary Players age... and you would see some benefit... I also suspect that Player is refering to someone on the senior tour when he says he knows for sure someone on tour IS using HGH. (This is also why many doctors have wanted Gary Player to take HGH).

Think of it as athletic Viagra...

Who said someone was a cheater, for I do not know enough about it to even really know what it would do for you and your golf swing. I merely wanted to show you that website as an illustration of strong arms and big veins. Heck, maybe his mom was a HGH junkie and he has the affects of it in his veins, or maybe that is all pure and natural.... But never ever ever did I call someone a cheater... for shame, for shame, for shame

Maybe, but I have never heard of a sex drive competition. It doesn't help you in a competition. HGH does.

(let's please keep this on topic, I think this is an important topic and would be rather disappointed if this branches off into 15 different sex jokes.)

HGH would subsoquently bulk you up-but would not improve strength..its kind of like creatine--it gives you a bloated feeling and allows water to enter the muscle tissue...causing it to become bigger--so i wouldnt recommend it at all--i would just lift weights for strength...its safe and it improves your swing speed

"People think the size of the head is most important. Wrong. It's getting a quality shaft. test different shafts to see which goes the straightest. Also, more degrees of loft on the head is better than less. Eleven degrees is about right."

That's not necessarily, true. Look at Marion Jones, Shane Mosley, the 1500 Meter US Champion, I forget her name. None of them became bigger to the extent that you said "Wow, he/she's juicing."

As for improving strength, it does. Just ask Barry Bonds or any professional bodybuilder. You have to cycle, just like anything else, to see results but you will get stronger.

Uh NO......

"HGH or Human Growth hormone is produced in the pituitary gland of the brain. HGH is primarily released during the early phases of sleep. It is quickly converted by the liver into the growth-promoting metabolite somatomedin C and is then circulated throughout the body. Once released, HGH induces the liver to make insulin-like growth factor 1 and this hormone then triggers the growth of bones, muscles and other body tissues. HGH promotes cell regeneration in your bones, vital organs and muscles and reduces the amount of fat circulating in the body. Human growth hormone is responsible for many effects on growth, development, immunity and metabolism throughout your body". from medical journal I had lying around.... like I said earlier, most people really have no clue what it actually does....they hear whatever on TV and believe what they are told....educate yourself if it interests you....ask "why?" every chance you get. Don't go through life believing everything you hear..get the facts yourself

Obviously you will get stronger--but not as much as you think..Most people use HGH for MASS--to look bigger than what they are strong..

I guess I was just more curious than anything. I had heard that some tour players were suspected of using it, and I was unsure of why. I would think more players would be on anti-depressants- from all them triple diget scores.......... jk

    • I know this thread isn’t based on statistics, but this kind of logic doesn’t work when applied to a single specific case. First of all, these aren’t independent events, like a coin flip. You can’t just multiply the odds.  Second, we are only discussing this case BECAUSE it’s unusual. If something (“Team X wins 21 times in a row”) has a one-in-a-million shot at happening, but there are many similar events, it’s much more likely to happen at any ONE of them. To be clear, I don’t have an opinion either way about this specific Club, but the statistical arguments based on random independent events don’t have any relevance.
    • A bit of summary from playing in the 2024 TST golf outing at The Virtues and Eaglesticks.  I feel like I am starting to figure things out a bit. Especially off the tee. 1st was a bit of a set up change. I lowered my hands a bit, and started to address the ball off the heel with the driver. This helped me to take the high toe ball out of play. I was wearing a spot out on the driver in the high toe area. Next was feeling like I was staying super tall through the downswing. Basically forcing me to get my hands down from the top of the swing better. Finally, realizing I have a lot of swing path before I start pulling the ball left. I was hitting pretty good big pushes off the tee. I didn't have to worry about hitting giant pulls or pull draws if I got my hands down better. It really helped free me up.  Irons are pretty solid right now.  Something I need to work on is full swing wedge shots or partial wedge shots. I am shanking these at a non-negligible  rate. Something with those shots is just off.  No other irons have I come close to shanking it. You give me like 60-100 yards. A yardage I can't really pitch it with a 60, 56, or 52 degree. It's like 33% shank rate. I didn't have another one of these shots. I was about to go to a PW and just pitch it from now on. Set Up: Less reverse K tilt at set up. Lower hands. Especially with the longer clubs and driver.  Backswing: Fling the club back with the turn, and feel it collect to a stop around A3. Backswing length is still a thing to monitor.  Do not rush the downswing. Feel things stop. I can rush the downswing by making the bad body movement to shallow the club instead of using my arms correctly.  Downswing: Feeling of staying tall through out the downswing. Get hands down. Feel like my head doesn't lower or tilt back.  It's like the upper center (chest area) stays very tall.  Putting, I did better when I started to feel some separation in the shoulders. Like, activating each shoulder separately for the back stroke and forward stroke. Feeling it more in the shoulder blades, and less in the torso. Though, I did make one of the worst back strokes ever on a 3-4 FT putt, but somehow still made it. It was kind of interesting thinking at the back of my back stroke, that was horrible. Then just hitting it in the hole.
    • 46+41 for an 87. Driver took a bit to get going. Most of the issues were some hitting balls into hazards or into areas I need to hit recovery shots from. Figured things out and started to play better.
    • Day 80. Back home. Technique work into the net focusing on wrist arch at impact with a station to help with path.
    • 1 for me, 18th at Harbour Town. Kinda surprised nothing from Wolf's Creek was on there but maybe they're not great golf holes architecturally, just visually stunning holes.
