My first set of iron were Titleist 981's. Second set Mizuno MP-30's. Next set might be Cleveland's. I consider these three the top iron makers. I have two questions, what is the difference between the Titleist 670's, 680's, 690MB's? Also, what is the difference between the Mizuno MP-33's and MP37's?

I have looked at both sites and can not tell a difference between them, then again I haven't had a chance to go out and pick each of them up.

I can help you with the Mizunos and Erik can help you with Titleist

MP37
*Rolled leading edge, flatter mid-sole, and rounded trailing edge deliver consistent striking ability demanded by professionals and top amateurs.
* Delivers a mid trajectory throughout the set.

MP33
*Rolled leading edge, camered mid-sole, and beveled trailing edge deliver consistent striking ability from all types of lies.
* Have slighty less offset

* MP33's are considered a Signature Product (def. below)

In a typical golf product life cycle, there is an introduction, growth, maturity, and retirement. The retirement of a product usually means it leaves the marketplace forever. At Mizuno, we recognize the fact that we build products that are the standard of excellence in the industry, and because of this, golfers often become attached and/or comfortable using a specific club, iron set, or other product. With this in mind, we have created the SP: Signature Product Category.

The products in the SP: Signature Product Category will no longer have standard, stock SKU numbers, yet can be ordered through our custom department with standard specs or any custom option available. This ensures that the discerning player will still have the ability to order their favorite club out of the Signature Product Category.

---So in a nut shell....not a whole lot of difference. The 33's came out before the 37's but very few people will be able to feel the difference

Thanks,

What is the difference between the flatter mid-sole and the camered mid-sole?

I have two questions, what is the difference between the Titleist 670's, 680's, 690MB's?

We've written about this a few times, I think, but a tiny bit of research at titleist.com gives you the answers:

670 : The Forged 670™ irons are a compact blade with a deep heel, soft toe profile and a thicker, flatter topline. Targeted at players who want a squarer looking blade that provides flatter ball flight with enhanced workability. The slightly wider sole with more bounce and camber is better for aggressive swings and softer conditions. The bright chrome finish with a blasted scoreline area contribute to the 670 iron's great looks. 680 : The Forged 680™ irons are a traditional, compact, reduced offset blade iron targeted at the player that wants a smaller head for shot workability and trajectory control. They feature a slightly higher muscle back configuration than the 690.MB irons, which produces a slightly flatter ball flight with enhanced workability. 690 : The Forged 690.MB™ is a modern high performance muscle back forged iron. The slightly longer and deeper blade provides a sleek yet classic look, while the lower muscle position in the back and minimal progressive offset provide traditional performance with better playability.

Looks like when I order my new irons it will have to be the 690's since the 670 and 680 only come in right handed. Maybe in another month or two I will be ordering them.

    • Oh man. As you can see above, Manavian mocked me for not realizing they were getting the 130° from BOTH shoulders. Apparently, though, Manavian is also wrong, as Andy said I was lying when I cited what Manavian had written: The next thing Andy says that's both accurate and clearly stated will be the first. I replied to that post with something like: Tell Manavian who said "only counting the abduction/adduction of one shoulder rather than 2." One of the issues with “bad” information is that y’all can’t even get on the same page. You've not shown that Bryson has 130° range of motion in either shoulder separately P1 to P7. I’ve shown the numbers. You’ve name-called and just said “nuh uh” repeatedly. Did you see the AMG IG video? Of course you have. Wrapping your head around the distance the shoulder travels yet, Andy? Andy later commented to explain how he got his range of motion number (apologies to whoever @iacac and @icaca are on Instagram, who are going to be wondering just what in the hell they've gotten themselves into). Oh boy. Adding the numbers in one direction and then adding them again going back is not a "range" of motion. If I can bend my knees 140°, I don't claim to have 280° range of motion because I have two knees nor because I can also extend my knees 140° after bending them. Bryson (with a driver, again — I used his iron swing) abducts about 65° (and bends his elbow a ton) with the driver. Then he adducts 50… and then another 15°… to end up right back where he started. This is exactly the equivalent of saying that I bend my knees 140° and then straighten them, creating a range of 280°. It's so silly I don't even have much of a response. It falls down completely on its own. It doesn't need even a nudge.
    • Can't remember who but some wise guy said "Arms up, body around"..😉. Anywho, been working on pinning my lead arm less and less to my chest in the BS. Decent progress with the arms, need a lot of work and trust for the 'body around' part.
