I only go to the gym when the weather is too crappy to play golf.

I hate going, it's kind of boring ... but I need to do something other than sit around & get fat :)

3-4 times a week. At least 20 minutes of cardio each time I go. After cardio, I hit the weights for about 40-45 mins. And each day I mix in some different types of core training.

3-4 Days a week lifting weights. I try to do some sort of cardio every day since I have an office job. Since I started back lifting weights (last December) I have noticed an improvement in my consistentency. My swing speed has increased as well.

Yes,

I workout everyday

sun: 2hrs soccer
mon: 4X400, stretch, Legs, Chest, Triceps, stretch, abs
tue: 6min bike, stretch, Delts, Back, Biceps, stretch, abs
wed: 3mile run, stretch, pull ups, max sit-ups in 2 minutes, dips, push ups
thu: 6min bike, stretch, Legs, Chest, Triceps, stretch, abs
fri: 4X400, stretch, Delts, Back Biceps, stretch, abs
sat: 3mile run, pull ups, max situps in 2 minutes, dips, pushups

Diet is also important. I eat a high protein moderate carbohydrate diet.

I do not think any of this exercise helps my golf game at all. From my experience when I keep my ball in play and my short game is on I play a lot better. In general it seems like CONSISTENCY and ACCURACY are the keys to golf.
In my bag:

Driver: R7 SuperQuad
Woods: RPM LP 3W & 5W
Irons: MX-25 4-SWPutter: Detour

    • Worst thing on Sunday was that NBC and Peacock wouldn't let me FF through the commercials on my DVR recording. Very boring when a guy has a huge lead on the final round and everyone else is playing for 2nd place. At least it was USA 1-2-3 in the end.
    • First day of a trip to Bandon Dunes. We played Sheep Ranch today. A Coore/Crenshaw designed course. A par 34 on the front and 38 on the back. With 8 holes with either a green, tee box, or the hole runs along the edge of the bluffs at the pacific. It has amazing vistas. With wide fairways and intermixed gorse bushes. The defense of the course are its large, undulated greens and the daily winds from the north. Many times you need to take 3-4 clubs more, if you even barely cross the wind, your ball can be taken offline or come up half to a full club short. A fantastic layout.    here are some photos.
    • At Sheep’s Ranch, Bandon Dunes. Shot an 84. That wind was nasty going from like hole 7 forward. It was like a 3-4 club wind if in the face. Greens are tricky with the natural grass.
    • Yes. The full swing is not that different, and speed is important with all of them. You don't see Tour players hitting their driver 310 and then hitting their 7I 160. Of course, but they're nothing like those for the full swing.
    • How about with the high numbered irons such as the 9 iron? Is the swing the same with that? If that's the case then I stand corrected.  OK, although there is physics involved in the putt too.
