Ebay is a great place to get clubs. But when buying, Remember to look at the Sellers feedback and history of sales.

Also ask him for the serial number on the shaft of the club, Some clubs can be counterfeit.
You can get amazing deals and even new clubs from Golf shops selling clearance.

Good luck bidding!

Be very carefull on e-bay, if the deal sounds too good to be true then it probably is!! Also with irons unless your standard lie/length then i wouldnt suggest getting them online, its worth the extra $$ to get fitted.

Ebay is a great place to buy your clubs. I have brought all of mine from there thus far. Just be sure to check the seller's feed back.

I buy all of my clubs off of ebay. Just make sure you read the entire auction carefully and you should be ok.

Okay, I take it that eBay is a good site. But what about knockoffs? I just found a site that sold a set a Ping Rapture Irons for $200 rather than $1000 because it's called Capture, and not Rapture. But will they be good clubs?

They are still decent clubs, but most have a history of being cheaper made and not Genuine. I think they can break pretty easily, would be better to just stick with buying an actually known brand of clubs.

Don't take any risks to save money.

If I was looking at a $1000 set of PING irons at a local pro, who fitted me up for them, and the same set on ebay for say, $800, I'd buy from the local pro rather than ebay because;

1. Build a relationship with the pro, and I'm sure he'll look after you with discounts going forward

2. For the sake of $200 (less when you remove postage etc) the discount is not huge

3. I'd trust what I am buying from a pro as opposed to someone I have never met on ebay, and I have never seen the product (is the photo of the actual items?)

4. More come back with a local pro if there are any problems - try dealing with an ebay seller 11 months down the line.

5. Trade in your old set.

6. The pro makes the money from the sale that covers their time, knowledge & experience that they put in to measure you for the set of irons. You expect something for nothing?

You can get good deals on ebay, but I'd always be more comfortable shelling out my hard earned into the hands of someone I have met.
