Weather.com list the published official "Sunset" times for everyday, these can typically be found in your local paper as well.

The question is how late can you play golf in relation to this sunset time.

Here is the link so you can see your own sunset time and hopefully we can as a group figure out the real "Golf Sunset". Just plug your zip code or city in at the top.

It depends on the weather. If it is overcast then you are pretty much screwed as soon as the sun goes down. If skies are clear you might be able to make it a half hour after sunset.

Until I finish the round or can't find the ball... I won't typically go out so late if I don't think I will be able to finish.

My sunset time is showing 7:59. I believe twilight prices now start at 5pm. The only way to get in a round is to start before the twilighters - its generally families or grandpa and grandson and they are too slow to get in a 3 hour round. A lot of them do not get the concept of letting a 2 some play through.

I'd probably have to get on the course by 3:30 to get a round in by dark.

8:13 was the official sunset time. It was overcast and we had no trouble finishing a 6:07 tee time as a two some for 9 holes by dark. We finished about 8:00 and had plenty of light left. I think when it is overcast it is on the number, and when it is clear skies its about +20 mins.

Sounds like you pretty much just confirmed my post. Glad you were able to finish the round.
