They're old, they're vinyl and slip snugly on/off to the tiny blades of yesteryear. I just don't like my irons beating each other to death in the bag, and I've tried the "new-type" neoprene covers and they're just too big, they'll hardly stay on and they don't provide as much protection.

I still have a partial set for my main clubs, but "new" vintage sets of irons keep following me home...

Hope somebody has a dusty old set in a closet, shed, or garage that can be purchased reasonably. Let me know what you've got, Thanks!

I have a set similar to these from Amazon:

I use them when I travel.

Thanks,
I've seen those but not tried them out, I figured they'd be loose all but the lock on 70's-80's blades. The neoprene-type are just too hard to keep on.  I found a full NOS set of the old-type Face Savers on ebay and made an offer. They're in the mail. I reckon I should close the ad. But then I might buy more in case I acquire more sets of oldies. so I can get another set of old irons in good condition.

Those pictured above are exactly what I need--they're a perfect fit for the old sticks. Yes I would buy another set. RH any color.

Well I've got all I need at present. Picked 'em off Ebay.

But I'd buy another NOS set if anyone runs across such.

    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.

    • Day 249: did a stack putting session and then worked on 5 foot putts for a bit.
    • Day 17 (26 Mar 25) -  Big day working on a project at church - therefore it was grab some time with the 9i in the backyard working on pitch and runs later in the day.  Focused on keeping the ball flighted to get some good rollout.  Hit about 20 shots doing that and then moved to the 54 to keep working on getting good torso rotation and not flipping through it.  Was not perfect as there were some bloopers and fliers but overall a good session on distance control.
