Bearing in mind the cost etc, who prefers an old school driver like a Callaway greatest big Bertha over something more modern with the choice being endless?

PM

Well, for good ball strikers I don’t think the technology can be disregarded. But for pure nostalgic enjoyment I’ve played my last couple of rounds with 1987 WS Fluid Feel irons and a set of 3-4-5W plus Driver from around 1979…..😃

at the end of last year I bough the PXG 0211 driver.
It was at a good price, so I got the benefit of having a new driver without having to pay new driver prices.

I think @Vinsk has it right. If you’re a good ball striker and are looking for better outcomes go with new technology.  I’m not a great player but recently had a fitting. My “old” clubs were Callaway XRS.  The fitting ended up changing my irons to Titleist T200 and wedges to Vokey. I can completely tell the difference. Interestingly, the fitter couldn’t find a better driver for me than the XRS.

Now, deeper into the season, I tried the latest Callaway Paradym at our course. My drive was consistently 15-20 yards farther. Did I buy it? Nope. I will, however, go back for a driver fitting again because I think my swing is a bit more consistent
