It's time to get something more current.

I think I'll try a 460 sized head this time, too.

I like the "traditional" shape of my head....I'm just not ready for the large square stuff, although I'm sure a few well hit drives would convince me otherwise.

The two drivers that I'm sort of narrowing in on are Ping G10 and the Bridgestone J33R.

What are your thoughts and experiences with these clubs and what others do you recomend I look at?
909D Comp 9.5* (house MATRIX OZIK XCON-6)
Burner Superfast 3 & 5 woods (house MATRIX OZIK XCON-4.8)
G15 Hybrid 23* (AWT shaft)
G5 5 iron-PW-46*, UW-50*, SW-54 & LW-58 (AWT shaft)
Studio Select Newport 2 Mid SlantGrips: PING cords & Golf Pride New Decade Multi-Coumpound Bag: C-130...

I still slice the crap out of my square Sasquatch. My next one will be conventionally shaped.

After this past week I believe that I would focus on the 3w. Not that you shouldn't get a driver, it's just that the right 3w will get you nearly as much distance and put you in the fairway alot more often than the driver. I had to send my driver back to Callaway for repairs and so I played with my new Callaway X hot as my driver and the results were very good. I actually found myself in places I'd never gotten to very often hitting my driver before (long and in the fairway). It also got me around the green in two on several par 5s that I'd given up trying to get to because I'd been hitting my driver poor thus not even trying to get on in two. At your handicap, the fairway is a great place to be to give yourself the best chance to lower your scores. I'm learning my lesson. Not even sure I'm going to put the driver back in the bag when I get it back.

I've only demoed it indoors on a monitor but the G-10 is nice. That wouldn't be a bad choice although the Callaway Hyper X is awfully sweet.

When i got fitted for my clubs at Hotsticks, they told me I needed the Bridgestone J33R 8.5 with a stiff Fujikura speeder in it. I bought it and hit it for a year. I played okay/well with it but felt for me it was to light. Bought a TM R5 with a 83g shaft but still have the Bridgestone.

    • Attempting to lift. Any better?
    • Day 82: mirror work again tonight. Working on the same shoulder down and roll and twist stuff. Going on vacation tomorrow and putting the clubs down, so new streak starts in about 10 days!
    • Day 44, June 17.  Today was some preliminary stretching, exploring what I'll want to set up as a regular routine (both while on vacation without clubs and when I'm back) (aside: this is part of an upcoming goal to stretch daily in a meaningful way, but I don't plan to count it as practice on days that I can meaningfully practice with a club)
    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
