I am very new to the game of golf. I have been playing with a borrowed set of Nancy Lopez golf clubs. My problem is that I am only 5'0. These clubs are super long for me and I'm considering purchasing a set of PETITE golf clubs (new or used). I have no idea what brands to look for. It doesn't seem like a lot of clubs come in petite. Should I consider juniors?
I'm not interested in spending a huge amount of money since I'm a beginner. Just wanting something I can learn with and maybe save up for something better.

I don't think they actually sell "Petite" golf clubs.

Most women's clubs are 1/2 to 1" shorter than men's.

My "other" is 5'2" and swings regular women's irons with no problem.

Depends on how much you want to spend, but you could either buy a used set of women's irons (Mizuno, Cobra, etc...) and just grip down on the club an inch or so. The other club maker pro's on this board can correct me on this, but I think for every 1/2" shorter, your lie will be .5 degrees flatter.

Or, if you're really not sure, just pick up 3 used women's irons have them cut down an inch. You won't be able to tell much of a difference between a 6 or 7 iron in the beginning anyway, and you can always move "up" to better clubs later.

Good luck!

You don't need juniors! Don't let anyone talk you into juniors! I have only seen maybe a couple of sets ever that you could possibly use but that's a last resort. If you are 5'0 tall, you need womens petite. Women's petite are 2 inches shorter than mens standard length clubs.

Take a look at the Square 2 Light and Easy ($350-$400). Adams Golf makes a couple of package sets but they range from $599-$899.

tgw.com & golfdiscount.com both have women's petite package sets available. PM me if you need any help choosing.

There's a question that goes along with this that I'd like to ask (and that I have a similar interest in the answer to): There are companies that do fitting for their clubs that have a pre-packaged set of "Ladies' Clubs," such as Mizuno Sora. Does anyone know if they do fitting for these, and if they're available for women about the size Brooke describes?

You are limited to what you can customize with package sets like the Mizuno Sora. Heads are usually 17-4 stainless which are difficult to bend, shafts can be shortened & regripped but thats about it. Most women who I have fitted for clubs that are under 5'2 fall within the Petite -1 sizing. Rarely do the heads need adjusting, most of the time shortening the shafts can flatten out the lie.

Help! I just received a set I ordered in a petite. I had read info that recommended petite length if you are 5'5" or less. I am now reading posts that say different. I got a smoking deal on an Adams set in petite and they don't have regular length. My question is, if I'm 5'3" am I too tall for this set?

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
