Hi, checking back in to see if any St. Louis area golfers get together for a round or three during the year.  I have recently dropped my membership in a local league this year to work on my game and meet other people.  I would love to hear from anyone that would be interested in meeting for a round in the St. Louis area.

I'm a walker and carry as few clubs as possible.  Mizuno JPX irons and Callaway woods with a couple Cleveland wedges sprinkled in the bag.

You might try reviewing the Sand Trap Community Map. There are a good number of members in Missouri. If you mention specific members in a post [ example @Rick_D, the member gets pinged. Just put the @ sign in front of their “name” ]

I'm in Missouri nowadays, but the opposite corner of the state from St Louis. I don't mind traveling if a group was planning a tee time though.

Pretzel, let me know if you plan to be in the area and I will see if we can meet for a round.  - Rick

Missouri?  What happened to Texas?

@Rick_D, he's a really good guy, and a really good player.  And a tip on using this site, if you type the @ symbol and start with the rest of the name, you'll see a list of members.  Click on the one you want, and he'll get a notification that he's been "tagged"

Things didn’t work out with the cutting horse barn my wife was working for there in Virginia. Their Texas facility we were supposed to move down to ended up delayed for at least an extra year after they’d had us leave Virginia to meet them down there “shortly”.

So we ended up getting some land by her family in Missouri and building a house of our own down here instead. Not as many courses, but there is one 5 minutes from the house that’s only $62/mo for both of us to be members at and other nicer ones within a reasonable drive as well.

@Rick_D I’ll try to remember to let you know when I’m heading up that direction. It may happen more frequently in the coming year since a dealer for a business I started recently is based out of St Charles so making deliveries myself might be more economical than shipping.

@Rick_D I know I'm going to be in the STL area sometime before/after the weekend of the 17th since I have flights that depart from there to go attend the Preakness ($80 flights instead of $250+ from KC or other closer airports). Would only be in STL on weekdays though, so might not work out.

You must be speaking of April, since March 17th has passed and fell in the middle of the week and not on the weekend.  I don't typically play on weekends, saving that time for the working crowd.  If you would like to meet up during the week give me some advance notice and I will see what I can do.  Spring and summer get pretty busy with golf for me.

Whoops, I actually meant May! My mistake there.

I'll reach out closer to the date once I know which specific days I'll be in STL.

    • Day 24 (4 Dec 25) - Spent about an hour working with the new 55° wedge in the backyard.  Kept all shots to under 20yds.  Big focus - not decelerating thru downswing and keeping speed up with abbreviated backswing.  Nothing like hitting a low flighted chip with plenty of check spin and then purpose to float a pitch of similar distance.
    • Day 114 12-4 Put some work in on backswing, moving the hips correctly, then feeling over to lead side. Didn't hit any balls was just focused on keeping flowy and moving better. I'll probably do another session tonight and add in some foam balls.
    • Didn't say anything about your understanding in my post.  Well, if you are not insisting on alignment with logic of the WHS, then no.  Try me/us. What do you want from us then?? You are not making sense. You come here and post in an open forum, question a system that is constructed with logic, without using any of your own and then give us a small window of your personal experience to support your narrative which at first sight does not makes sense.  I mean, if you are a point of swearing then I would suggest you cut your losses and humor a more gullible audience elsewhere. Good heavens.
    • I have access to far more data (including surveys and polls) than you do with your anecdotes. I mean this as plainly and literally as possible: you’ve demonstrated that you do not. They would, one way or the other.
    • Yes, but you don't live in the UK, so you have no idea what we think about it here. It's a very different mindset here, to demonstrate the fact you should consider 9 out of 10 games we play here are Stableford, whereas you you almost solely play medal. Neither is right or wrong, it's just different  I'm trying to avoid swearing here. Once again, and for the 1000th time, I understand the system, I just don't agree with it. Is there anything wrong with that? PS, I do not have the time or patience to post my results, especially as they prove nothing  That's because 99% of the posters are Yanks
