I used a metronome to determine my ideal putting tempo. I’ve read most people fall between 66 and 80 bpm. That range felt extremely slow to me. The bpm that felt most natural was 100.

Is that too fast? I definitely side more on a shorter, quicker stroke but being that far outside the average feels a little concerning.

Weren't you closer to 86 or so when you were here? How are you measuring the 100?

I'm about 82, and I'm relatively fast, but I believe Brandt Snedeker is about 106 so it's not way out of bounds or anything.

I watched Day 8 - Putting (Rhythm, Tempo, Alignment Sticks) video again and I must have been timing from the end of the backswing to impact. I don’t remember ever testing it with you but we must have because when I did it again, I was right at 86.

That feels fine on longer putts but pretty slow on the short ones. Something I’ll definitely have to work on.

Does that tempo stay the same for long putts? So you have to maybe make the longer putts feel faster to match the tempo over a longer distance the putter head has to travel?

86 isn't slow. It's either takeaway and impact when they beep, or the ends of the backstroke and follow-through.
