Let's start with the accessories:

  • Balls (Titleist Pro V1x)
  • Pens (pencil is tough to read on a slightly soggy scorecard)
  • Sharpie (Black, always)
  • Weighted Donut
  • Range Finder (Bushnell Pin Seeker 1500 w/Slope)
  • Tees (Stinger and Zero Friction)
  • Groove Cleaner
  • Shoes - FootJoy GF:II in tan and white.
  • Titleist Towel with added scrubber brush

Not seen here:
  • My 2005 Rules Book (forgot to take it out of the bag)

Irons: Titleist 735.CM, Chrome version, stock grips (for now), TrueTemper Dynamic Gold S300

Hybrid: TaylorMade Rescue Dual TP 19°, Diamana Hybrid S shaft, 8-8 weight configuration, head cover marked as "2" as this replaces the 2-iron, and Golf Price New Decade Multicompound Grip

Woods:
Driver - Titleist 905S, 9.5°, Graphite Design YS-6+ S shaft, 45", Golf Pride New Decade Multicompound Grip
3-Wood - Titleist 904, 15°, Fujikura by Titleist Speeder S shaft, Golf Pride New Decade Multicompound Grip

The Bag Itself: As seen below, a Japanese import Titleist CBS 51. I try to keep it light, so I may not have everything in it that everyone else has, but it still has all I need. The "emergency packet" has some bandaids and bee sting stuff as well as some cash and quarters if things really go badly and I need to make a pay call somewhere (or I don't have any ball markers).

Not Seen Much at All:
My putter, a Scotty Cameron by Titleist Red X, 33", and the heaviest weight (350g). I love it.

I like that set up!!! How do you like those irons?

They're sweet. The "not safe for the general public" comment I came up with during testing was this. You'll quickly see why I wouldn't publish it in a review...

"My advice: wear a condom the first time you use these irons or you may need to clean out your pants after the first few holes." Uhhh, yeah... Needless to say, they're good. I also see that I forgot to mention the two wedges I carry, a 54.10 Spin-Milled and a 60.04 Spin-Milled, both Vokeys of course.

Really nice Eric. I was reading your review on the Titleist 735cm and I have a quick question...since these irons have very little offset, do you think they will be a lot harder to hit than the ones with more offset? i usually have a slight fade with my TA7's and now im worried that my fades would turn into slices. i guess i'm just another average golfer scared of upgrading to a player's irons.

Or you could upgrade and learn to play with them. My problem has always been the opposite - a lot of offset and it's Snap Hook City (population: 15% of the golf world or so). So I've never really had to change my swing... but if you fight fades or those fades turn into slices, clearly that indicates that you need a bit of a change anyway...

I say try out a set. I think you'll like them. They remove the weight from the heel, too, remember so that it should help you close 'em up a little easier. Offset is just one of about ten or twelve things that affect clubface position at impact. Shaft weight, head distribution, your swing, and even the kind of grip on the clubs (the actual rubber grip, I mean, but also your hands and fingers) can affect it. So you never know until you try it.

What bag is that?

This bag is the New 2006 Japan issued Titleist Cart Bag CB615 RD. I saw it on ebay while surfing for a cart bag. It is the only one I've seen so far online. The seller said that he will be auctioning off a black and white one sometime next month. It's a bit pricey so I don't know if I really want to purchase it. Below is the link for this item on ebay. The highest bid at the moment is $355.00, you still have 18 hours left to bid on it

. If you ever get a hold of this bag for a reasonable price, please let me know, I want it! P.S. - Erik , Is that the Titleist Dri/Hood Towel you have? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

I too bought a Japanese bag. For some reason they're just that much more attractive to me. As for the towel, uh, it's just a Titleist towel. $20 here locally at any golf store, really.

Did you try these irons with the rifle flighted shafts in them or did you just try the dg shafts.

if you tried the rifle shafts , how did they differ.

Which clubs? I've never changed shafts in a set of irons, but I have hit the same clubheads in different shafts in order to complete some reviews.

Sorry,

I was referring to the Titleist 735 and wondering if you tried different shafts before choosing the DG.

Let's start with the accessories:

Maybe I missed the big announcement when you switched away from the TM Black. I'm shocked, as I thought you were gonna ban me when I posted my dislike for them....

You could also check the dates on some of the posts, too.

Funny, I just switched to the TM REd from the PROV1, lol, honestly, I believe there is no reason someone should use a PROv1x, just because with a good swing, prov1 is all you need and if you need it to spin less on some shots, well thats why pro's prov1 a lot more than prov1x, prov1x is usually for els, goosen, scott, big big fast 135mph swingers!!! LOL, just my opinion
