I have always gotten them back. I almost lost my 8 iron at a par three, I took two clubs to the tee box and left with one. It was in a tournament for little league baseball and one of the kids who plays in the league was swinging it around at the dinner afterwords if I didn't see that kid, I wouldn't have noticed until the next time I played.

I have lost too many headcovers to count.

Yes, ive done it a few times. Ive only lost one club doing that, which was my first vokey gap wedge. Now i make sure I put any clubs I bring up to the green with me on top of the flagstick or on a clear path on the way back to my bag. I havent done it since.
THE WEAPONS CACHE..

Titleist Vokey Wedges - 52 & 58 | Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2 Putter | ProV1 Ball

Left a couple, but always got them back, now I try to put them in the path I will be leaving the green so I don't forget. It would be a lot easier if I only needed one club when getting out of the cart at the green.

I used to lose these all the time. They'd just fall out of my bag, so I couldn't do the "leave it where you'll see it" trick. This was back when I would carry instead of push.

I went and got plastic bottles that had a clip on them, and used a caribeaner (spelling? correct word even?) clip to connect the one in use to my bag. Drink, re-attach, continue.
